I have a 2003 TJ that originally had the factory subwoofer in the center console. The center console and subwoofer are long gone from a previous owner, so I have the wiring and connector at the cup holder area that is unplugged. Unfortunately my stereo stopped working because one of my speakers (rear right) has a short somewhere, but after troubleshooting it is somewhere between the dash and the receiver (not from the rollbar to the dash).
I want to try removing the subwoofer harness to start to see if this caused the short. Is the subwoofer harness spliced into the existing speaker wires (and therefore has to be cut out), or is it removable by unplugging it? If I can unplug it, where is the connector? I do not see it behind the stereo receiver.
