Im wondering what idea people have come up with to live in there jeep for roadtrips if any. Ive been trying to figure stuff out but I have barely enough time to test ideas at the moment. What ever ideas you guys have used or have will help. And I only have a Tj not an Lj fir anyone wondering.

I'm not sure that I would ever try "living" in a jeep unless what I was really doing was towing my jeep behind a motorhome and living in that.

If, however, you mean camping out of a jeep, an interior cargo rack doubles your gear carrying capability.

Here is my rack in an LJ: https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/diy-interior-cargo-rack-for-lj.10707/

Brad Kilby used to market an interior rack for TJ's: http://www.4x4wire.com/jeep/reviews/kilbyrack/

Here is one listed for sale in Los Angeles (still available as of 9/15/18):

Something like this?

I'm not sure I would try living in a TJ... maybe a JKU. But even then, why not just bring a nice tent and park the TJ next to it?

A friend had a rooftop tent like that and it took him far more time to get it ready so he could climb up the ladder to go to bed than it does just a typical tent that sits on the ground. He ended up selling it his roof-top tent. I'd only go with a rooftop tent if I was wheeling in Africa where Black Mamba snakes are apt to crawl into a ground level tent. ;)

Ya of course living in the jeep isnt ideal but its more of a thought than anything maybe take the passenger seat out or something could give me leg room.

I spent two nights sleeping in my TJ nearly 20 years ago while wheeling and it'll never happen again. Despite the reclining seat they were terrible nights. I barely got any sleep at all.

As @Mr. Bills said, a rack doubles your interior room and makes it way easier to live out of the Jeep.

Here’s mine:

If you’re talking about sleeping in your TJ that might be tough. I’m 6’ 2”. I gave up on the idea and I’m driving an LJ. I would need the front passenger seat removed and replaced with a platform.
I just use my largest backpacking tent and spoil myself with a 3” self inflating mattress.

If you were running topless you might try rigging a hammock. A buddy of mine uses one with his JKU.

I have the exact same Kodiak aussie-style swag tent in my tent collection. It takes just 2-3 minutes to set up and tear down and the 3" foam mattress is quite comfortable. I have never had a bad night's sleep in it. Admittedly this tent is a bit more bulky than a backpacking tent and air mattress, but the comfort and ease of use make up for the extra bulk. I just put the canvas tent duffle across my back seat.

Kodiak often puts these on sale at the end of the season.

That looks interesting. I might have to look into one of these a bit further.

Nice looking setup. I looking to build a trailer. I like the ability to setup camp and not have so much weight when exploring. Did you build it? Do you have more pics?

The "skid load" can be removed so I can use the trailer to haul stuff, I do some woodworking and stuff on the side so I need a way to haul material......

Here's my setup. 5' x 8' utility trailer that I built a frame for my tent. Once I park I van have the tent set up in about 10 minutes. The panels take a little longer, but if I'm only using my lights, I don't have to charge my battery every day. I also have a shower tent and on demand hot water (not pictured) for a little creature comfort for the girls.

It's still a work in progress.

Exactly what I was looking for; people who have set ups like these. This will be some tough choices to choose between something similar to @Shwane or @Carvblaster ideas. Thank you all for the help I will keep yall posted on any ideas or choices I make.
