Bumper Ideas: Let's See Them!

Although I don't have it mounted yet I'm getting a poison spyder BFH with brawler bar. I'll post pictures when I get it.

I cut down the original bumper by 8" and angled the ends so I could install the MOPAR plastic flat end caps. I added a slightly modified Warn winch plate and a Warn VR10,000 winch. I also added a Warrior hoop that I modified to fit the winch plate. I kept the original lights and used Reese hooks.

Which warrior hoop is that?

I was looking at the 07-18 wrangler warrior hoop and wondering if I could make it work on my LJ.

I guess I dont get the point of a hoop, it just removes the ability to stand on the bumper:motorino::periodico: when I am working under the hood.

It's listed as a universal hoop so it might work. I bolted mine to a Warne winch plate. I had to fabricate some brackets and weld them to the hoop to make it work.

Thanks for the info. That’s the same part number that Quadratec listed for the JK’s that I was looking at.

I may have to try it and do a little fab work to mount it, and add a couple light tabs.

Do you have any other pics of it mounted? Maybe a side view and a close up view?

Sorry I don't have any close up shots of it and also that I got it wrong above (it's been a few years since I did it). I welded the brackets I made to the winch plate NOT the hoop. The Warn winch plate is the raised version and the hoop wouldn't fit flat on it. I cut a piece of 2" channel iron to match the length of flat iron bases of the hoop. I cut and ground down the channel iron to fit the contour of the winch plate and then welded them to the plate. I was then able to bolt the plate and hoop together.

This pic shows it a bit better (passenger's side as the other side is obscured by the cable). The "wedge" under where the hoop is bolted down is the piece that I made and welded to the winch plate.

I like that. I may do something like that if I don't like my bull bar. I like how you kept the stock bumper but added the stuff and made it look great. If you wouldn't mind when you get a chance, can you take a post a pic looking down, so I can see behind the winch?

Thanks. I'll take a pic tomorrow and post it. One change since the above pics were taken is that the solenoid is now mounted on the winch. I had it under the hood back then. My LJ is covered in snow and it's -24*C and dark right now. I'm in for the night! lol
