What did you do to your TJ today?

Got 2 more smiley faces

The other day, I unlocked the passenger door and it wouldn't open. Figured the ziptie holding the outside handle rod to the broken metal clip on the latch (previous owner/shop repair) had broken or whatever. The metal clip is riveted to the latch, and isn't replaceable. So I replaced the passenger side door latch. Also found the lock cylinder clip not fully "on" like it should.

Life has been super busy lately for me. Took a new job in a new city 2 months ago that is very physically demanding and draining me daily, bought a house for the first time, and trying to pack up all my stuff back at my old place on a few weekend trips back. Oh ya, throw in a global pandemic. Then starting to overhaul my new house because nothing has been touched in at least 3 decades. I spent about 6 hours a few weekends back getting the TJ to a place where it could be transported. But this past weekend I got the Jeep and about 90% of my stuff moved down to my new place and started to setup my "shop". Started to put in some work to finish up my wiring harness for the engine swap last night, only to realize I forgot my binder with all the wiring diagrams at my parent's place when moving. So that's halted again until I get that down here as well as the last of my tools. I spent about 3 hours tearing things down again so once I get the binder I can hopefully finish that harness easily and install it quickly. I also learned the ceiling in my shop is too low to just fold the hood back against the windshield so had to take that off too.

I enviously followed your build on Instagram months ago, but I must have missed something: why do you have to do more work to the wiring harness? Also, albeit I’m not very well versed in engine swaps, I think you did a fantastic job with transforming a neglected Jeep with rusted out floorboards that you could poke a hole through with your finger into a fully running Jeep with a badass engine. As have so many others on here. Y’all have given me hope with my own rust bucket 😂 It’s just awesome, and it was so cool to follow everyone’s builds and watch the transformations in real(ish) time! 🤘

Thanks! Needs some new tires but other than that it’s pretty much dialed in and ready for summer!
Your the one that just got it correct?.. she everything you hope for?.. Sahara’s are my favorite

Yes I did and yes she is! Bringing it back down to a modest height with 31s makes me love it even more, and putting the soft top on absolutely sold it for me. I’m a happy camper 🙂

i think i'm on vacation in texas and bring my axis with me.

:ROFLMAO:

Took a closer look at the passenger side seat belt buckle and I think the problem with why the outer part slides down is the small plastic lip inside that is supposed to catch on top of the metal lip, wears away, then slips down past it.

I tried to point out the area that I'm talking about, but it's pretty self-explanatory when you look inside yours.

I put a semi-permanent fix on it by placing a zip tie around the buckle below the cover to keep it from moving, and it seems like it has fixed it for now until I come up with a better fix.
