What did you do to your TJ today?

im actually in the area until maybe Thursday or Friday. Your spot on with flat tops, main & west elk. I’m staying in town up towards the end of East elk with aunt/uncle. Bumped into 2 others on their way to Adams while we were bumping around west of there but was warned I’d be about the bare minimum of what could get through the area. I was mainly just dicking around about a hour away. It’s been raining quite a bit here but everything seems to dry up quick.
Im looking at making a run to Denver sometime soon to get some front sway disconnects or Currie antirock as I’d like to hit up imogene Or one of the other pass soon and had learned how “fun” it was without disconnecting them it was in Moab. I don’t come across anything in Michigans flat lands that requires sway disconnects so I wasn’t as prepared as I anticipated & id rather be prepared.

came across this abandoned guy on little box road a few days ago🤣

You must have gone through Rifle....this is where I live.
I was just at little box canyon last weekend.

Where they trying to save it with the tree or trying to get enough leverage to roll it down the hill?

I didn't think anyone would notice that. I was saluting my GF for taking the pic. She's a picture person that will stop me on a drive to take 10 pics of the same cloud formation. God forbid there's a rainbow after a storm.

She would wipe out the memory card if she ran across this!

Quadratec led tail lights. Plug and play is nice.

They stick out a little farther from the tub than the factory lights. The factory ones rubbed a little on my Gen 1 exogate, but the Q-tec leds have clearance.

Looks great @zebra12. Huge improvement in visibility. I want to compare against mine when I come to corvallis. I am getting my half doors finally painted this week, so excited.

I am a big fan of moab wheels on the tj's. but i think this looks ok on the solar.
first pic stock wheels 235/15 second is 245/17 jk's. i used 1.25 adapters on stock suspension with no rubbing at all. oh and first pic includes the jeep dog want to be

Removed the (pointless, at least to me) "trail rated 4x4" badge. I also opted not to put back the rubicon decals after I got my hood painted last year. Love the clean looks now. Half doors getting painted today and I will have it on my jeep next week. So excited for that.

I had bought new pocket fender flares and a set of thermoplastic rocker panels, and went to put them on yesterday. Taking the old ones off was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Until I got to the last screw, on the last fender. It came out partially, and then the nutsert started spinning 😤 I finally got the whole thing out, but then I noticed some rust spots. I tested them with the screw driver, and of course, they gave way and not I have to fix two holes 🤬 Luckily I finally found a good mechanic, and he has a welder, so it’s getting fixed tomorrow and then it will be mostly covered by the fender flare and the rocker panel. Other than that mishap, everything else went pretty well, and only 2 screws broke in the nutserts. One nutsert was accessible from the wheel well, so I just took a Dremel to the back of it, and with the other one I trimmed the front of it and punched it through into the body. It was right above the newly made holes, so I was able to retrieve it without issue, and I can just put a new nutsert in. Thank goodness for small miracles.

Changed the rear sway bar bushings. Had my first stubborn bolt. Got it out at last, but it went back in just as hard. Nutsert is probably galled. Also noticed that the end links need changing, click, click, click.

Then, I wanted to check to see if the spark plugs had been changed in the last century or two. Apparently not. Worn down smooth, .063" gap on the one I pulled. I'm amazed the thing was running. I then screwed the spark plug back in, put the coil rail back on, and started it. It wasn't happy. It ran rough, and there was the occasional ping. I think said spark plug may have not been fully seated. Regardless, I went to Autozone's website, which claimed my local store had Autolite XP985 plugs in stock, so I went down there. They had stock all right, exactly ONE. Typical. A full set will be here tomorrow for only 50 cents more than Amazon. Because I couldn't put them in today, I loosened all 6 plugs for ease of install tomorrow. Oh, no never-seize on the plugs nor the coil rail bolts. Thank Goddess its an iron block.

Lastly, I had ordered some trim rings for the speaker grills in the sound bar. Long story, but I basically had to adapt speaker grills to the sound bar speakers because the speakers have protruding coaxial tweeters that hang down pretty low. In any event, the trim rings arrived, their mounting holes have been drilled, and a coat of flat black is drying on them.

Might want to retire that kiddie pool...I think she's made her last voyage. 😔
So here’s the story behind that. My dad is a pastor and our church used to have a school in it. When it shut down we still owned all of the equipment so it got put in sheds/storage etc. That kiddie pool and all of the stuff in there hasn’t been used in eight years lol. So it makes for a great place to put my top!
