Is it recommended to use heaver weight oil when your rear end has many miles on it? Over 200,000.Replaced my backup light switch today which fixed my backup light issue. I meant to change my differential oil but somehow didn't get to that. A friends visit and beers might have impacted the progress.....
Good luck.. nice buy.. just did same thing!!Picked up a set of half doors in beautiful shape with matching interior panels, all for a whopping $200 Gonna have a go at painting them myself to match.

No. I have about 154k on mine and I'm changing it with 80w90 dino oil. You could put in the 75w140 which is recommended for towing if you like.Is it recommended to use heaver weight oil when your rear end has many miles on it? Over 200,000.
That and it rains almost every afternoon in Florida! Here in Florida, I've found that its generally better to wash just before, or just as, rain starts. That way you get it washed, and the rinse water is pure so it doesn't leave spots!
Yeah I get the Lake Erie rain up here so that leaves spots and whatever chemicals are hangout in the lake that dayHere in Florida, I've found that its generally better to wash just before, or just as, rain starts. That way you get it washed, and the rinse water is pure so it doesn't leave spots!
Thanks! I remember seeing pictures of yours and it looked like they turned out pretty good. Hardest part is gonna be matching the paint.Good luck.. nice buy.. just did same thing!!
ha.. yes sir.. I just went with the paint code and used it.. obviously it’s not a match as far as old to new But honestly I’m the only one who notices.. you paint looks pretty good so I wouldn’t worry to much about shading it in..Thanks! Absolutely, it will eventually be getting 35” tires and Metalcloak overline fenders. If it needs to be replaced, minus well upgrade it. Boss is swapping to Dana 60’s on his tj this winter. That’s when I’ll get his Dana 30/Dana 44 with arb lockers and chromoly shafts!Good steering components are essential with big tires..at least eventually, in my book.
It's not that stock components are bad, they are just designed for smaller tires and less stress.
Thanks, had to start somewhere...That's a pretty impressive first post.
Busted a load of firewood this weekend.
