What did you do to your TJ today?

Took it offroad a little this morning.;)

RIP milk jugs. You will not be missed. And of course what could have been 5 minutes turned into 20, since 2 of the screws decided to spin their clips rather than loosen. Bumper painting coming soon.

Are you going with the flat caps or just leaving them off?

Changed the spark plugs from the Bosh iridium units the PO put in, to the NGK 3459 OEM units. All gapped to .035.

Idles much better now. The #5,6 units were lose as well. WTH. Should have checked this first week of purchase.

Word to the wise, don't take someone else's maintenance schedule and routine for granted

Yesterday I dropped the tank and installed a new fuel pump and sending unit. Still have P0462, so I’m very annoyed. On the plus side, I was able to fix the fuel overflow issue.

Today I spent a little time cleaning and degreasing 40+ years of gunk off the 8274. Pretty pleased with how it’s cleaning up. I don’t think I’ll be polishing it into a show piece, but it’s going to look great with all of the new bits it’s going to have.

Hope to get it installed next weekend.

What you experienced with your Jeep is exactly why I went thru my '01 when purchased new to me in January and performed all the maintenance you would normally do throughout the year.

For sure. I honestly should have done this when I first got it. I did check the plugs and gaps, since the plugs looked new, I didn't bother changing them, until I started reading about the Bosch plugs and our ignition systems not meshing well.

Wow there are enough Milk jugs there to feed Fruit-loops to a small school

Ball joints and brake job finished today. Most work I've ever done mechanically, and I'm super thankful for a landlord with an arsenal of tools he basically forced me to borrow so the job went way smoother than planned.

Everything is antisiezed to hell now though so there shouldn't be any issues taking it apart in the future.

Can't wait to get new shocks & springs haha.
