What did you do to your TJ today?

A rag around the end of the spanner (wrench) should protect you pristine nuts ( less painful too so I'm told ) 😲
Paper towel inside a slightly larger SAE or metric (can't remember the side) should do the same to protect the paint.

I'd be more worried you'll need to use a jack on the door to get it unseated after all these years. Plenty have done it and a piece of wood to distributed the pressure makes that an easy move to get them off.
 
Replaced the radiator today, can't get Mopar ones here in Australia, so went with the Mopar replacement type. Plastic tanks and aluminum core. The only problem I had was one of the quick connectors was leaking when I started up. I have a 2006 auto. So I cut off the hoses and replaced the connectors with push on hose fittings. It will be much easier to replace next time if I need to.

Ordered and installed the OXILAM 1156 LED Bulbs for the reverse lights, per a recommendation from someone here.

They may not be as bright as the seller claims, but for $15 these are a HUGE improvement.

I was pretty impressed with them. They're solid. They look and feel just like the factory ones I removed - just newer (and a bit wider).

They're just as strong as factory, very little give even being a little wider.

For my purposes - keeping crap out of the Jeep when windows are down or soft-top is open - they're perfect at a great price.
What size wheels, tires, and spacers do you use? I will be going with 33” tires is the future. Will probably need spacers to prevent rubbing. Similar to you, I want to keep the crap in the wheel well and off the side / inside the Jeep as much as possible.
 
Yesterday went wheeling with two buds with JK's. One of them had an ABS problem with wheel speed sensor that caused rear passenger brake to drag. Had to wait roadside for everything to cool off before addressing the issue. I have seen this a number of times with JKs, the ABS/Wheel speed sensor issue.

Yea had to use a jack to get one of the doors off wife’s JK. Replaced all the bushings with Delron....done deal.

Wheels, I'm running a set of 15x8 with 4" backspacing (-19mm offset). Based on research on this forum, that seems to be a sweet spot for wheel sizing. It fits larger tires nicely without interference, and gives a nice, wide stance.

Tires, I'm running 31x10.5. I went with that size as I'm running a stock Dana 35 rear end and wanted to reduce the chance of twisting an axle. I may go up to 33" when I install upgraded axles, but I have a bunch of other stuff I'd likely do before tires.

I had to use a jack the first time I removed mine. I bought in fall of 2018 and I think I was the first one to ever remove its doors the following summer. If you use a jack have someone help you or BE READY because when the door starts to come off, there's no stopping it and you'll have to catch it! I wasn't ready for the first one but luckily I was paying attention at least and I was able to keep it from hitting the ground. The second one obviously went better because I had one of my sons help me catch it. :ROFLMAO:

While you're at it, buy a set of door hinge bushings because once you have the doors off, you'll take them off regularly and the new bushings make life easier. The doors come off with very little effort now.

Damn right. ;) I cut the PO's oil pan/trans skid off this morning because the bolts wouldn't budge with my impact. I think he put the wrong skid on anyway. Since I mainly do mud, it was just a way to store an extra 50lbs of it and make changing some fluids a PITA.. I can post pics of the crap in my trash can.

I worked incrementally. I put a little pressure on the door with the jack (using a 2x4 to spread it out and protected the door), then wiggled the door a little bit. I was able to slowly open the gap in the hinge with this method. Surprisingly, the passenger side was harder to get removed, but I never reached the point where the jack pushed the door pin completely out of the hinges on either door.

That's my advice if you're removing doors for the first time. Work slowly, and coax the door and hinge at each step.

yeah, mine took quite a bit of force. I thought I was literally going to lift the Jeep off its wheels getting the doors off. I shot them PB Blaster and tried by hand first for 3 days, spraying them more each time figuring I needed to let it penetrate longer but finally I decided to get the jack out.
