Bestop replace-a-top fitment

The inserts are in my OEM factory full soft top with the original cage, I am not sure what else would stiffen the top at the rear roll bar without them?
They have separate internal pouches that the stiffeners fit into, they are a very stiff opaque nylon.
Maybe they were only on deluxe type tops?
I just had a look online, which shows two things. The corner stiffeners were only on very late TJs, which explains why my OEM hood didn't have them. Having looked at the instructions for the Sailcloth replace-a-top there is no mention of them. So it looks like they are a 'premium' feature of just the Twill version.

The first thing I would have done is sent Bestop (or the place you bought it from) a picture and told them you want a refund. I had a tiny crooked stitch on the inside of my new Bestop. I contacted them and they sent me a new top and told me to keep the old one. I sold it to my neighbor for $300. 🤫

p.s. The new tops have the logo on the top itself. Yours has a square logo on the window. You must have got the Chinese version.
That window logo looks a bit odd to me, just adds to my suspicion that it isn't really a Bestop product.

Just woke up and haven't been outside to take pics of the frame but I bought it through AAFES which is the US Army Airforce Exchange (think Walmart for the military) so I seriously doubt that it is counterfeit. With regards to the frame, what should I be looking for that would confirm factory or not.
I have driven it around for a week hoping it would settle in, it hasnt.

I couldnt see the side cage bows that come off the roll cage bars in the pics.
I have not seen one fit that loose!

I think you could solve your problem if you had the bestop supertop NX rollbar brackets. Just the brackets that bolt to the rollbar that the Bows attach to. The bestop version allows you to set the rear bow further back to take out all of that slack.

So we agree then that the frame is factory and the top is genuine?
Yes.

All what slack, did something change? His original problem was the top was too tight. I have the Bestop bracket with 3 holes but wish I still had the OEM bracket, I should have never thrown it away. The current version with the extra adjustment holes is flimsy.

Whoops I was thinking of another thread. Yes I'd try Bestop's later brackets that give the ability to adjust the top's tightness. It gives 3 different bracket attach holes, each one pushing the support brackets out further.

Yes.

The bracket does seem flimsy but in 5 years it has only been a problem when i rolled the jeep. Bending that bracket was the least of my worries🤣

Contact Bestop and send them the pics. I just put a RAT on my YJ with factory hardware and it was tight. I had to use a hairdryer to heat the upper doors to get them over the frames. It looks great and doesn't flap.

Bestop's customer service is pretty good. You might have to wait for a call back though. I ordered a replacement side window from them in March. Took 3 months to get it, and when it finally arrived, it was wrong. I called them and they sent me all 3 windows no charge to get me by while I wait for the proper window. Only bad part was the windows were clear instead of tinted. The new windows fit well, btw.
