Would anybody south of the border be interested in buying a Canadian LJ Rubicon?

Given the small amount of effort needed to post things on the Internet, if I was in your shoes I would. When I bought my LJ, the only thing that would have stopped me from driving up to BC was the assumption that all Canadian Jeeps must be rusty. If someone posted lots of pictures of the frame...

    York, Sanden, etc., OBA Failures?

I burned mine up while driving back from Moab because I had a leak and accidentally left it on and must have run out of oil or something. Around the same time I did a 1 ton upgrade and my coilover towers were going to get in the way of the CU Offroad bracket. So I pulled my York and replaced it...

    ATV toolbox for a TJ

It was years ago, but it was $550 shipped. Also, I don't have the exact same one they have on the web page. I need space more than I need it to stay below the body line. So rather than a 16.5" tall, I had them make a custom version that is 23" tall. (Crappy picture but all I can find. It's the...

Congratulations to vinsanity, the July 2020 Ride of the Month

@Garza Thanks for the hook up. The soft shackle is nice, and I really like the thimble I bought with the gift card. I'd take a picture using it... but I don't get stuck.

Congratulations to vinsanity, the July 2020 Ride of the Month

Thanks to everyone who voted for it. It was a lot of fun to get up to that spot to take the picture. It was also on my birthday last month, so I just consider this part of my birthday present. Lol

Please use the proper torque spec folks

I'm not fully following what this is, but I'm interested. So it makes the head of the bolt tacky? Not sure how that helps. Or is this primarily non hex-head bolts with recessed attach point like Allen, Torx, Philips, etc to help prevent the bit from slipping out while you crank?

Different Material for Motor & Tranny Mounts

I installed a universal crossmember tranny mount under my AX-15 so I can drop my skid plate without supporting the drivetrain. It is hard mounted to the transmission & t-case and then has poly bushings at the frame. I feel like I read long ago that it's not a good idea to mix rubber and poly...

SOLD 2004 LJ built on tons

Oh, sorry, I totally misread your post and thought you were the seller announcing that it's still available not a buyer asking if it was. :-) I'm 90% sure this is only a semi-custom cage as I have the exact same cage. :-) But I bought it second hand from a guy who got it when he bought his...

What did you do to your TJ today?

New shoes!! First beadlocks. But dear Lord, did I underestimate how much the torquing those bolts would suck.

Artec Industries 1-ton axle swap: Who has done it?

I would start by going to pirate4x4 and reading through the 1 ton TJ build threads. The site in general has lost a lot of it's traffic and a lot of threads are less valuable because of broken pic links, but there's no better archive of significant. non-bolt on Jeep mods. This is where you get...

Artec Industries 1-ton axle swap: Who has done it?

lol. For sure! It's funny when non-Jeep owning friends ask me if I'd ever buy a new Jeep, I'm like, F NO! I'm taking this one to my grave because I'm not putting that time into another one, and I can't afford to pay someone else. lol

Artec Industries 1-ton axle swap: Who has done it?

Last year I installed 1 tons & 40s under my LJ. I used Artec trusses & brackets. Excellent quality at a very reasonable price. Would recommend them to anyone. But @Chris and @Rubi04 are right. I did all the work myself (lots of welding). Spent months doing research. Took 4 months to do the...

Not your mama's long arm debate

The short vs long arm discussion changes depending on what you are building. If you are looking for 35s with a 4-4.5" lift and stock axle locations, most people will argue that quality short arms will out perform poorly geometry long arms, and most bolt on long arm lifts fall into that category...

Double DIN Android Head Unit (InsaneAudio TJ1001) Chinese Knock-Off Review

Oh @Frankred reminded me of something. For the park/brake wire, you can bipass that in software. I didn't connect mine to anything. Go to: <Car Settings> —> <About Device> and next to HMI there will be a settings button. The PIN is 8888. These are the advanced settings. Go to: <Others> —>...
