What did you do to your TJ today?

The saga of the misfire p0203 continues. Insulated the 3rd fuel injector with the recommended product and wrapped the rest of the injectors + fuel rail with the whole DEI Heat Shield kit for the heat issue. Pulled the throttle body again and clean up the IAC (3rd time throttle body has been...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Yep, that was my plan. Trouble shoot a little more, take it to a shop I trust and if they think PCM than Ill make sure they go through @Wranglerfix . Heard nothing but great things about him/company. Any idea roughly on turn around time for a new PCM to get in through him?

What did you do to your TJ today?

Picking the Jeep up from a mechanic that insists I need a new PMC. Still getting the p0203 and p0303, a fairly significant misfire. New spark plugs, coil pack, cleaned throttle body, new TPS, and fuel injectors swapped places. Going to go with the Heat Shield wrap on the 3rd injector, clean...

TPS is Mopar. If there’s one thing that’s been beat into my head in this forum, it Mopar haha And assuming it’s not the sensor, that will be my next test. Starting to dig into some threads on that now. Appreciate the help.

What did you do to your TJ today?

This is the first time I’ve heard anyone suggest this, but it makes sense. Gas tank is fuel though, didn’t notice a change at half vs full, if that’s makes a difference. I’ll get the TPS thrown up, because who doesn’t like new parts and follow up with this if I still don’t see an improvement...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Chasing a weird idling issue when I brake/turn. Drops rpms down to basically zilch and bucks a little bit. All this after new cats, exhaust, o2 sensors (NGK), cleaned iac/throttle body, and cleaned/swapped around a couple troublesome fuel injectors that were causing a check engine light (p0203)...

What did you do to your TJ today?

I got brand new o2 sensors for the 01. Once again, someone else can comment since I’m by no means a vet, but the upperstream o2’s are still connected to the old headers and the downstream shouldn’t have issues since they are still collecting data from the same bung/cat setup as stock which is...

What did you do to your TJ today?

That’s the one I went with. From my understanding, all TJs from 2000 or 2001 and forward moved that Y/dual-upper cat setup. The shop bolted it up without an issue, only thing they did was trimmed a hanger, which is on the wrong side. There really isn’t a lot of threads/conversations about why...

New o2 and Catalytic Converter - Hard Idle

Hey everyone, running into some fresh error codes and hard idling after having a shop do some exhaust work. I have a 2001 TJ Sport. Long story short, I had 4 new o2 sensors(NTK), flowmaster direct fit cats, and a banks exhaust bolted on this week by a shop. When I picked it up the guy had told...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Paid to have the flowmaster catalytic converters and a new banks monster exhaust, plus new NGK o2 sensors tossed on at the same time. Normally I’d suffer through that kind of work but a long weekend and sunshine left me a lot more interested in beer and fresh air over a socket wrench and sweat 😁

What did you do to your TJ today?

Nothing impressive but swapped spark plugs at about 80k, I assume it’s the first time they’ve been swapped. Either way, added the Autolite XP’s, much smoother and less clunky. Between the driveshaft, sye, and spark plugs...feels like a brand new Jeep after this weekend.

What did you do to your TJ today?

Picked it up from the shop with a new sye/rear driveshaft/ adjusted pinion angle...all vibrations gone and drives like a dream. Had some concerns about mid frame but the shop said it was solid, even wire brushed and painted the skid area. Time to address cats, cat back, and o2 sensors next. Big...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Finally got around to changing the old transmission fluid for Redline like many recommended...probably a bit overdue to be honest. Noticed the improvement in shifting immediately. Glad i finally got it done.

What did you do to your TJ today?

Took my Jeep in to get a quote for the sye/driveshaft. I wanted to handle it myself but I’ve got concerns about potential rust under the skid drop. Didn’t want to find myself in a bad situation. Figured I’d let a solid off-road handle it and let me know if anything needs done about the frame...

Who here has been riding on frame patches for a few years?

Same issue as well behind the trailing arm. Took my Jeep in today for a quote to have someone else do the SYE/Drive shaft because I was too concerned about dropping the skid plate myself and finding rust issues I’m not experienced enough to handle. Had to have been 8-10 years since it was last...

    Upright transfer case shift lever

Makes sense, I did mine in 2 hi but I see where 4 low would be the best way to set it. I’ll give it a shot.

    Upright transfer case shift lever

You touched on something I’m having a little trouble with. I recently bolted up the savvy cable shifter and I now can’t get it into 4-low due to the shifter hitting the back of the counsel. I think I know where I didn’t tighten the nuts evenly but which lever underneath impacts that tub shifters...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Finally bolted up my Savvy transfer case cable shifter and ditched the stock junk. Still need to tighten some things up and give it a test run but it was a fight all day. Due to some rust/skid plate nutsert concerns I opted out of dropping the skid and unbolting the driveshaft. So there was a...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Savvy shifter came in today. Boxes are really starting to pile up and I can’t quite get the consecutive days I need to get everything knocked out in one sitting. So far the shifter, sye, driveshaft, new skid, diff cover, and a few other odds and ends are all standing by. But man will I be...
