    4 Cyl and Auto??

I have an 01 TJ 4L and the 5 speed that I will rebuild during the winter. The body isn't too bad, but the floors are crap. The frame is rusty, but only 1 small hole at the rear control bracket. I found a 1999 4 cyl, automatic TJ with 200kms (120k miles), and it looks like it's in pretty good...

    Thoughts on this TJ?

I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw the pics. Here in Montreal, we use more salt than any other metropolitan area in North America. there are 5 year old cars here with rust holes. To me that frame is a long way from being "Rusty". Buying a Jeep with a rust free frame is one thing, but...

What is the safest way to clean your engine bay?

Like others have said, cover your electrics, intake, oil dipstick and anywhere that water could harm. Then use s degreaser like Simple Green, Krud Kutter, Simple Clean or any degreaser you like. Let it sit on a COLD engine and rinse with LOW pressure from the garden hose. Never use high...

Rubicon Express 3.5" lift at unbelievable price

This is for a Jeep that doesn't see any rigorous off roading, so I thought this lift was the best bang for the buck. An Antirock sway bar is in the $600 region, quite pricy for a mild build. As for the shocks, if they don't ride well, I'll get Rancho's for a better ride. Good Riding, Ian

So nothing is good enough unless it's Savvy or Currie? Are you grouping this RE kit in with Rough Country or Skyjacker? These prices are CDN prices.

What Else Is Needed For This Rancho Lift?

My original budget was $1000. Since I went a little above that, I'll drive the Jeep and see how the vibrations are. If there are any, I'll do an MML and with the adjustable upper control arms, hopefully that will take care of any vibrations.

    I'm in need of bushings

I have an 01 TJ and I have only driven it twice since I bought it, one on the highway getting it home. I drove at 60k because it felt like the Jeep was driving on pure ice. I had a tough time keeping it straight. I started taking things off for my rebuild and I looked at one of the control arm...

What Else Is Needed For This Rancho Lift?

I was just thinking that with the kit with Rubicon springs and Rancho shocks, I will still need control arm bushings as mine are shot, and most likely sway bar links. These two things will be about $400. I was thinking if I could take that $400 and get a kit with better components, it would be...

Can't find 2.5 Sway Bar Links

Thank you, I'll look into these. My control arm bushings are shot, and since I believe this jeep has over 300K, I want to replace what I think is necessary. So, if I replace the sway bar links, I may as well go with ones that fit properly.

Can't find 2.5 Sway Bar Links

I have found links for stock height and 3.5 - 4"+ lifts but not for 2.5" lifts. Does this mean I don't need longer ones? Any suggestions? Thanks Ian

TJ Transfer Case Shifer is Seized

I am in the middle of doing a refreshening of my 01 TJ and I can not get the transfer case shifter to shift into 4wd as the handle is rusted and will not move sideways. I sprayed penetrant on it and got it to move front and back, but it will not move sideways. I took the cotter pin out and the...

What Else Is Needed For This Rancho Lift?

This is my shopping list for my TJ. Let me know if you would change anything. remember, these prices are CDN, but if anyone knows of better prices, please let me know. The bumper and winch are basically add-ons, not necessary. Rancho RS5000X Series Shock Absorber - RS55240 - CAD$146.70 Rancho...
