    Towing a U-Haul Trailer

Nope. Only their dual axle box trailer had brakes. The 5 x 8 single axle I rented had a 2800 lb gvwr.

    Towing a U-Haul Trailer

For any future members curious, the jeep did fine. I took I40 which I believe has less long inclines/decline. I believe I was a little over my ori ginal weight estimate of 1800 lbs (trailer is 900 or so dry). Probably closer to 2200 lbs, but since I have an LJ, I wasn't stressing (too much)...

    Brake Job

I was inspecting the brakes prior to an upcoming trip where I will be towing a 1.8k lb trailer from CA to OH. The pads seem like they could use replacing, so I was thinking I'd replace with BMB since they are well regarded. My question is do these rotors need replacing? I don't mind replacing...

06 LJ HVAC Stuck Defrost Door

Hey all, Having an issue with my HVAC that I strongly suspect is the defrost door being stuck by interior debris. A few years ago my driver door glass shattered and sent glass everywhere including up on the dash area and I specifically remember at least a few prices of glass falling down that...

    Towing a U-Haul Trailer

I'll be moving from CA to OH at some point in the future. I would like to tow a trailer vs renting a truck from uhaul for cost efficiency. I have a 2006 lj with 31s and 3.73s Heard uhaul won't rent to wrangler without a hardtop, but I have one so I'm covered there as far as I know. Trailer...

LJ with tummy tuck at 4" suspension lift

Hey yall, Didn't see any answers to this specific scenario so here goes. Currently running a 4" rock jock lift with most of the kit necessary to do a tummy tuck. I know what I need, and need help deciphering what I don't. When I did the lift, I installed a SYE and tom woods driveshaft...

Does this noise mean it's time to replace the power steering pump?

This noise just started today. Pretty sure I isolated it to the PSP. Put a screwdriver to it with my ear on the other side. Can feel it in the belt assembly as well. Anything else I should look for, or is it toast? Steering is tight, though I think one of the joints in the steering shaft is...

Is my driver door window frame bent

Here are some pictures for reference. I have noticed the driver door will sit flush if I put a good amount of pressure on it, pressing the weatherstrip down pretty hard. Is it possible to bend the window frame back? or should I redo seals? or stop worrying about such small things.

Is my driver door window frame bent

I replaced my driver side door due to some damage it incurred. It seems this door does won't seat properly. Although it does shut securely, the bottom half of the door is not flush with the cab, and sticks a little more than 8th if an inch. It seems like a silly thing, but its kinda driving me...

P0700 and P0740 codes after WranglerFix PCM install

Can't speak to the metal shavings but I can say when I took it in to get overhauled it had thrown an additional over heating code, due to the transmission working harder on my commute. Can't remember the other code but I knew it was related to overheating/high temps Sounds like an overhaul is...

P0700 and P0740 codes after WranglerFix PCM install

Took it to a reputable transmission shop near me and they recommended that the torque converter be replaced and the transmission overhauled. Had it done a week ago and my CEL has gone away. Also definetly noticed improved drivability because the torque converter was functioning properly finally.

P0700 and P0740 codes after WranglerFix PCM install

As title states, experiencing p0700 p0740 codes after replacing the PCM with one from @Wranglerfix. 97000 miles This did fix my hard shift from 1-2 that I was experiencing. Also fixed my occasional sluggish start from stop (feeling like I was in second gear). Checked fluid few times and its...

    Missing bolt in engine bay?

I replaced the iac and while doing so noticed this hole with threads. Am I missing some type of important bolt here? The area pictured is next to the TPS.

    Multi use bumper

Anyone elsepress joints in/out of the stubby end of their axle shaft like this? Worked like a beauty for me. No access to a sturdy vise clamp. The longer ends were easy enough to press if i was sitting on them. It was much more difficult to find leverage on the little guy. Obviously if you have...

    06 LJ, Likely Overkill

Hello all, This is serving as my build report, a place to compile everything I will do to my jeep. It may also serve as an adventure log, who knows. A little about myself: I have owned jeeps a few jeeps before. I got my first 96 grand cherokee 4.0 when I was around 17. I caught the bug when a...

    Eyeball my pinion angle please

A little update. Stripped the torx at the rear and drilled it out and installed the angled bracket. Tom woods custom shaft was ordered and received. Working on the SYE install today. Took lots of trips to stores for various things in addition to my early morning supply run. Should be able...

    Eyeball my pinion angle please

Thanks for the responses. After setting the yoke to 12 and taking a reference angle to use for the pinion i was able to get what I 'think' was optimal and still felt some pretty noticeable vibes. PO had put TC drop in that i removed since I thought I wouldn't have any issues. I could put it...
