Ports not round on 2000 TJ 2.5 Dorman exhaust manifold

Is it necessary for the exhaust manifold to be port matched to the head? I don't remember the previous one being out of round & I've already returned it. Will this be an issue? It's the 4th manifold in 6 years! I'm not sure if that's good or bad given what I've read. I've replaced the...

    2005 Exhaust Manifold (Replacement Advice)

Flying to AZ in March to change my 2005 exhaust manifolds. My friend's tool set is pretty basic and my tools won't be accessible. I'll also be removing my driver-side fender for the first time. I've purchased: 14mm swivel socket 14mm adjustable ratchet wrench nickel-based anti-seize Note 1...

Exhaust manifold nightmare (Unsure what do to next)

I have a 1999 Jeep Wrangler 4.0L. When I first purchased the vehicle over a year ago I had replaced all the exhaust on the car. I had replaced the exhaust manifold with the Banks exhaust manifold type version. It wasn't by Banks but an exact design. Then earlier this year it cracked and I had to...

2006 TJ 4.0 6sp Rubicon I have an exhaust leak from the flange joints between the two front catalytic converters and the exhaust manifold. I tried tightening the flanges but I can still feel and hear exhaust leaking. I managed to remove the 4 rusty flange bolts and get the joints apart, and it...

    2.4 Exhaust Manifold Question

Hey guys! I've got a 2006 TJ with the 2.4 and a 6 speed. It's got a strange rattle on acceleration. It almost goes away when the engine warms up and it's not near as bad now that the weather is warmer. It was horrible this winter. It'sbeen getting progressively worse overall though and I've been...

Novak block hugger headers for a Gen III swap?

I was wondering if any of you have used the Novak block hugger headers for a TJ Gen lll swap? If so, have they been reliable, leak free and have you been generally happy with them after putting some miles and years on them? So that's the primary question but to expand a bit if you care to read...

    Help with manifold fastners

I am replacing the manifold gasket on my 2.5L. I want to know if I have this right... Pic 1 has my assortment of bolts with 3 different washers... The weird looking washers hold against both the intake/exhaust manifolds, correct? The round washers hold against the exhaust manifold only...

advice for replacing exhaust manifold gasket on 05 TJ 4.0

I need to replace the exhaust manifold gasket on my 05 TJ Wrangler X with the 4.0 6 cyl. The job doesn't look that bad, and I really don't want to pay $400 in labor to have a garage install the $30 gasket. Anyone done this? Anything to be aware of that makes it tricky?
