Well guys I really screwed up. My boss worked at the plant during TJ production in the water and weather test area. The one thing he told me over and over: “Really put pressure on that header seal when you install it”. Did I listen? Clearly not well enough. Son of a gun.

I have a 97, and my weather strip I’m assuming? Came off, and there’s no way to reattach it, having off roaded her so much, I thought the plastic hard seal would have prevented any dirt from entering, boy was I wrong. what’s the best place to get the weather seal that attaches to the lower rear...

So I’m changing the pinion seal and a few other things today.. I noticed something that worries me when opening the seal up. The package says Dana 30 but the set is manual says it’s the right part number for a Dana 44. Also they look a little different so that’s another cause for alarm.

Currently regearing my Dana 35, and inside it are these o-ring things just outboard of where the carrier bearings and shims go on both sides. I tried to pull one out and it tore, it feels like they're made of RTV. I didn't see anything mentioned in the FSM about seals like this. Does anybody...

I've just got a new (old) '03 TJ with an aftermarket hardtop. The previous owner never took the top off, so he didn't know much about it. It's a 2-piece hardtop with the sound-deadening "carpet" throughout the entire inside of the top. I'm pretty sure this Jeep came with a soft top originally...

It would seem for some reason that the hinges / latches that hold the front of the hardtop down to the windshield / header on my TJ aren't pulling down with as much force as they should. I know this because when driving at high speeds you can hear some air getting in through the header seal...
