Here's my 1997 Sahara. Currently doing a full width axle swap. Was 8.8 swapped with a ected locker when bought in march. Wheeled it at smorr once and then it's been a part several times since.

My axles are a hp44 /9" from a 1977 ford f150. Geared to 4.88 , 44 has moly shafts and high dollar CTM u joints. The rear 9" has Yukon shafts and disc brake swapped already.

Went to order my tnt customs truss and mounts. Right as im almost done I notice " doesn't fit Dana 44 with cast wedges". So now I'm on the hunt for a pre 77 Dana 44 housing, or a f250 housing with leaf mounts

If you know someone locally who is good at welding I suspect they could build you one fairly easily.

Lucky me . Found the rare axle I need for my build. Out in middle of KS. About a 2.5hr drive. But well worth the $50

Got it! What did that high pinion Dana 44 come out of?
1977 f150. 1976-77 are the ones with welded on edges . Which you want if not running ford radius arms. Also the late 70s f250 Dana 44 are perfect too.
