2003 Rubicon Front Locker Actuator Wont Unlock

I purchased a pair of Rubi axles for my 97 TJ. The front actuator (Air) will inflate and lock but will not deflate and unlock after air is turned off. It bleeds off after time but it takes quite a while. Is this fixable? Has anyone ran into this problem? Any advice would be appreciated.

I think it had to bleed through the pump itself, or more correctly, the vent is in the pump. I ran into that trying to restore a pump that the dust shield had fallen off of. I sealed it up with plexiglass and silicone. The air would no longer vent. Fixed it by drilling a tiny hole.

So... Check the pump. It should have a square plate on it. That is the dust shield. Make sure it's clean.

The bleed is in the pump. If the locker opens up when you remove the hose then the problem is after the hose.

I have the whole thing out of the diff sitting on the bench. Add air through air hose and it airs up but does not deflate when you remove air. I did the back and it deflated as soon as I removed air

I also did a vac check on the rear, it held a vac where the front does not. I know it is a positive air system, I just wanted to check

What does the sticky actuator do when it is pressurized (locked) and the hose is removed directly from the actuator?

If it’s been regeared the sensor pin mat be behind the locker flange holding it open .

Stays inflated, it bleeds off over time. I’d say it takes 3-5 min to deflate enough to unlock

Sensor is electronic, it just indicates if the locker is engaged or not. I have the whole spool sitting on the bench so the sensor is out of the equation
