I've read through a lot of these threads while trying to pinpoint my electrical issues but no luck so far. I drove to work and when I went to start it up to go home, no start, no crank, dash lights turn on. prior my only CEL codes were from 2 O2 Sensors that popped the day before. I've been trouble shooting for close to 3 weeks now.
I swapped relays and fuses around.
There is power to the starter from battery.
There is power to solenoid.
Solenoid engaged but no turn on a bench test so replaced starter.
Still no crank.
When I turn the key I hear a whine, the lights turn on the dash, and I hear a click from the relay behind the glovebox.
Held the relay while turning the key and can feel that relay click.
If I am not mistaken that relay is for heater/AC.
Some discoloration on the pins. Swapped with another relay, no change.
Checked all fuses and relays for continuity.
I have tried changing the gears and running P to N several times.
Starter wont bump.
I pulled the starter relay, hit the brakes, put the key on run and connected the pins in the starter relay, sparks and solenoid clicked but no crank.
Brake lights are working with pedal so I think my parking sensor is good.
At this point my guess is actuator pin in the ignition, crank position sensor, or maybe PCM? Looking for advice and other troubleshooting steps before throwing parts at it.
Update: I have jeepcables 5 cable replacement less than a year old and battery is less than a year old with 11.8v on multimeter.
