2005 Engine Wiring Harness Intermittent Failure

Recently my Jeep has been stuttering and stalling randomly. It will be running just fine and then cut out. The Jeep dealership looked at it and told me the issue is with the engine wiring harness, but they don't have a way of getting a replacement wiring harness. Does anyone know where I can go to get one?

Sounds like an answer from a dealer that was unable to find the problem. Unless someone has made a mess out of the original harness, it's unlikely the entire harness is shot. You might have a bad connector somewhere or a broken wire somewhere, but not the whole thing.

I'd start looking for some clues as to what is happening when it starts to stutter and stall and look for trends.

Honestly, intermittently running poorly is way harder to diagnose than not running or running poorly all the time.

I'd suggest checking fuel pressure, compression, and try a new coil rail. You need 3 things for an engine to run, so check those first.

Yea, they said it is one of the wires or connectors that is the problem, but they can't tell which. They told me it would probably be easier to find a whole new harness. They think the issue is because the Jeep is lifted, which they say caused the wires to stretch.

Just make sure you find one from the same year Jeep as you have, as well as the same engine.

Does anyone know if the lockers on a Rubicon are part of the engine wiring harness? Trying to figure out if I need to make sure the wiring harness I get has to be from a Rubi. Looks like average price for a wiring harness is around $200. Given what the dealership told me, and the fact that I have to secure the connectors to the ECU with zip ties because the plastic clip that locks them in isn't keeping them connected, I'm just going to redo the wiring harness.

If I had my Rubicon here I would look for you, but I'm pretty certain that the wiring for the lockers is indeed part of the harness. Or at least if it has a separate harness, it plugs in at some point to the factory harness.
