06 tj rubicon 6sp won't start. 0 noise when turning key. Starter, battery, key tumbler & electriconic ignition, clutch safety switch, fuses & relays all good. No ground in fuse box, Is it my PCM bad? Should I get a remanufactured PCM or send mine off?

If you're getting NOTHING I'd probably suspect the ignition switch tumbler thing first. It's a pretty common failure point.

Thank you, but I took it all apart and looks real real good. Also, I did buy a brand new electronic Ignition portion of that area of the key and the new one didn't help. Main thing we found is 0 grounding I inside the fuse Box

What diagnosis steps have you taken so far?

All the items that I have listed have been diagnosed a 100% good. I just don't know if my symptoms mean it is my electronic brain of the Jeep. Has anyone out there had the same issues I'm having? And then they factually concluded it was the brain of the Jeep the ECM or ECU or PCM which I think mean the same thing? Also there are remanufactured ECM's and then maybe brand new ones and I don't know who to trust. Sometimes you send off your stock one and they reworker. Who has had good luck?

What symptoms were you having prior to the no start? Stalling while driving, o2 sensors showing bad when good and loss of cluster are three main faults of an 05-06 pcm.

Have you tried push starting the Jeep?

You can call me at 866-888-7710 to discuss and diagnose.

Thanks,

Mark Cantrell

If it turns out to be pcm related, I know a guy over at Wranglerfix that can assist you. 👍🏻

You took the ignition switch/tumbler apart and confirmed is ok but did you also confirm the ignition actuator pin is ok? They break their cast actuator pin and when that happens it won't start the engine but everything else will work. They break often enough that I carry a spare in my TJ with me. It sits behind the ignition switch.

This is what I bought to carry as a spare... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004BYX8W8/?tag=wranglerorg-20

My money's on Jerry. I had the same problem, just due to wear on the end of the pin. Sometimes, I could just push the key into the lock and it would start.
I wonder which accountant came up with this design?

He said the engine turns over but does not start.

Are you getting fuel to the throttle body? Bad pump relay?

Thanks for that, Jerry. I went ahead ordered one for a spare - which now pretty much guarantees that mine will never fail…

In the first post, you first stated no sound but then on post #11 you said the engine turns over but doesn't start. Which is it?

My actuator pin looks real good. No crack or anything on the square tubular part where I've seen them fail. I greatly appreciate your thoughts and ideas. I'm hoping someone can tell me absolutely my PCM or ECU or The brain of the Jeep is bad before I spend lots of money and ti'm getting a new one.
