32 RH tranny line size

I have a crack in my tranny line and was thinking I would just use a compression fitting to repair. The line size is 3/8, right. Can anyone confirm please. The line is in excellent condition otherwise

I don't know but if a 3/8" open end wrench slides over it a little loose it's 3/8". I wish I could tell if anything is metric or not on any modern vehicle but if the 3/8" doesn't slide on or is pretty tight it's 10mm, if that's even a thing.

I am curious as to what causes a crack on a tranny line that is in excellent condition otherwise. Hmmm...

Yes it's 3/8". It's not a bad idea to carry a couple feet of 3/8" ID suitable rubber hose with a couple barbed brass splices. I missed zip-tying a section of hose and a pulley nicked it spraying ATF out and causing a huge cloud of smoke. I was grateful to have had the ability to repair it on the side of a highway.

Thanks Jerry. When I first checked it I thought I could feel a small crack on top of the line a few inches behind the radiator. Yeesterday I had the time to drive around a bit and then check it and there is no crack. Gonna clean everything off today and try to find the leak. When I first saw it there was maybe a 3-4 inch spot on the ground but after doing about 100 miles yesterday and parking around noon there is no spot this morning and only a small drop on the line. Fluid level is fine. We’ll see after cleaning and re-checking today. The only other likely spot I can see is where the braided line is pressed on just to the rear from where I thought the crack was.

Like your idea about the repair kit. Will be doing that.
