97 TJ Front Seat Replacement options?

Hello All,

Have a 97 TJ and am in need of new front seats. With all the options of seats out there I would prefer the opinions of anyone that has purchased aftermarket options? Any suggestions/opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and keep up the wave!!!

This is a pricey option, but I've been holding off on seat covers because I might actually spring for a set:

I believe Jerry Brandsford has recommended the "Daily Driver" model.

After a little searching around the web, I came right back to this company. They look awesome and I've also seen them on a TJ featured in a YouTube clip.

I would second the prp daily driver series. Well worth the $ in comfort, and can't beat the fact you can customize the colors and fabric options to what ever you want

I wanna say it was just under $750 for the two seats and the brackets they sell at PRP. So a little spendy, but worth every $ in my book, especially with the ability to totally customize them. Also a full day on the trail in the suspension seat was far better then the stock seats on my back.

I have no issue with the $299 per seat, but the $55 for brackets x 2 seems very lame for a few pieces of metal.

Yeah the brackets are defiantly a little steep, especially since they are essentially just angle iron, but I was renting and didn't have access so all my tools, so fabbing my own wasn't an option.

Damn, i was just going to buy Bartact covers for my oem seats and be done. But last Friday on my commute to work while driving over washboard roads I realized I was being shuffled out of my seat. Then the thought hit me, "if these seats held me better, I'd enjoy the ride much more". So now I'm really considering the upgrade. Thing is, Ive got tumble seats (passenger & driver) and I don't want to lose that accessibility.

I just need to call PRP and see what they've got, if anything, that's comparable.

One of the plus sides of this upgrade is you jeep the "tumble" feature of the seat base. The daily driver series doesn't fold, but it's still better then a stationary seat.

I was wondering about this. How do you engage the tumble feature if the lever is not longer present on the seat?

The seat base has its own lever underneath that will activate the tumble feature.

Did the Daily Driver seat require any interior alterations to get the base to fit? I have a 2001 TJ and am a little worried about the extra wide base fitting. Thanks!
