Hey everyone, I have been working on my 98 project TJ since December. I swapped from MT to AT among other updates. I need to see a 98 TJ in the Denver area or have a jeep mechanic expert come over to my house. I have extra or missing connectors and plugs from a couple different wiring harnesses that I have. Two are from 98's one is my original and one from a 99. The 99 harness is not compatible in several ways, fuel injector and other plugs don't match up so didn't take pics. One of the harnesses does not have the plugs to connect oil pressure or temp sensor whichever it is coming off the oil filter and the plug that provides power to the distributor. The one that has those connectors on it has two large plugs that are in the center of the firewall just under the hood in the middle of the engine bay. The other one only has one of the big plug connectors. I've attached some pics that show the wiring harness differences from the 98's. Any information or help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Gabe

It's been awhile since I did the diesel swap, are you trying to seperate them and they aren't coming apart.

i would install new plugs, get some pliers and pull them apart. i cut mine out. Didn't use them.

But I did install new Deutsch connections where needed.

This is a 29 pin. Bit on the expensive side. For an idea

Wanted them apart to re-arrange a twisted mess of wires from Previous Owner (PO) who did the original swap. I gave up.. they never came apart. Just spent the extra 4 hours re-arranging things the harder way to finally fit up nicesly-ish on the firewall. self tap screws into large zip ties made for tieing this up worked perfect. (unless I screwed some into my heater core.. eeek.. Im afraid to look at pics

I did strip out the coolant temp sensor wiring from the harness to make it separate. The PO had done that for the Oil Pressure sender. Left rest of harness there in case I come across need to power something orrr? Its tucked up and across the top of the vacuum brake booster can. (like I will install a diesel fired coolant heater) and one of the existing somethings (now unused) might be good for that.)

Those diesel fired heaters are nice. Used then on the 1tons in Alaska. For the lower 48 the grid heater is enough to get the engine fired up. I don't drive the Jeep in the winter anymore.
