A/C is not working

As our Jeeps get older it is a good idea to purchase new and used spare parts to maintain on hand due to decreasing availability.
Shortly after purchasing my '01 I started a spare parts cabinet where I have numerous sensors, electronic components, motor mounts, etc...

What year is what? the Jeep? Yea I'm doing my best to learn it, its pretty good so far in opinion.

Yes the jeep- I was asking you to the difference in vacuum line sizes on the mode selector- that is an 05/06 deal I think.

When I was 16 I pulled a VW beetle out of the weeds and get it going and kept going for a couple of years -

It kept me out of trouble and it gave me something to work toward and it taught me a lot-

My Jeep life started after that bug-

Today I said I still work with my hands, have house, a 401 k, an f250 platinum, 2 Rubicons, another project TJ, 2 Ktm dirt bikes, 5 enclosed trailers, 2 open trailers, 4 other vehicles, lots of tools , blah blah blah- And I have made some mistakes, just outworked them. And have been blessed. No question.

Here is my point- you are already doing what built my life- - making sure you can get around, working, paying your way and getting it done-

Those habits can get you everything in life you want - go for it.

Hey- people define 99 Sahara a lot of ways - Maybe he was stationed there in the military or went camel shopping there. I try to be very discerning......😂

So a while ago my ac worked on all speed settings except for second to highest so I replaced the blower motor resistor to try and fix it but it didn't work.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago my AC started to randomly cut off for a few mins then it would start again, after about a week of that it stopped completely.
I tried replacing the blower motor and it did nothing, (I actually tried connecting the old motor to a battery after I took it out and it ran fine, so I guess the blower motor is not getting power) I tried swapping the AC relay under the hood with a known good one (the horn relay) and it STILL didn't work.
I'm stumped, what am I missing? are there any other relays I should check?

Beyond visually inspecting wires in question, you can check the resistance of your wires to see if damage is inhibiting current flow. Voltage might be there but you need enough current to provide adequate power to the load.

Also to @AndyG ’s point about low refrigerant, if you have a low pressure switch then it will prevent your AC compressor from engaging when the pressure is too low (so your compressor doesn't kill itself by trying to reach pressure that cannot be achieved).

I’d put refrigerant in the system if there are no leaks and there is no atmospheric contamination in the system (vacuum has been properly pulled and maintained).

You could Just replace the entire panel. I just did this last week in my 99, and the local parts store had one on hand.

I check the switch and it looks fine, no melting or anything.

Visually inspecting the electrical component is only the first step in the troubleshooting process...
You need to test for continuity between the internal contacts to determine their condition.... which is why I recommended the troubleshooting steps that I posted above in #31..

Touching on what I stated above, continuity is also a good start but your resistance number is equally important when there is a partial line breakage. What I mean is, don’t simply assume the continuity “beep” tells you the entire picture because continuity is binary.

Completely agreed. I had that bite me in the ass when fixing the air conditioning on my old WJ - my DMM showed continuity from the PCM to the AC coil connection, and with no load it would show 12V to ground. But if you used a test light or actual load, it'd act like an open circuit. Root cause was a loose connection at an intermediate connector, but I didn't figure that out until I'd already wasted time and money replacing the coil and compressor.

No, they have a high/low switch to shut off the compressor. This has nothing to do with the blower motor.

Absolutely. Folks confuse their AC system and their heating system with their “air movement” (blower) system.

Settings for your fan are blower related and should not be confused with your AC system. Your AC system is either on or off (not partially on or partially off.

Your air supply from the blower simply blows air through the evaporator (for AC) or heater core (for heat).
