A/C not blowing cold inside cab

Hello all. Forgive me if my question has been answered elsewhere. I couldn't find a thread with my specific issue.

My problem is that my AC does not blow cold inside of the cab. The compressor engages as it should, I have an adequate amount of Freon in the system, the low pressure line gets super cold all the way up to where it goes into the cab, the blend door actuator works as it should as well as the vacuum system for the vents, and the heat works just fine. I'm leaning towards the filter in the orifice tube being the problem, but any suggestions are welcome.

When I purchase my Jeep, I was told it had a Freon leak somewhere. After replacing the Schrader valve on the low pressure line, a vac and fill of Freon, I had cold AC for a while until very recently.

I know its winter, but here in New Orleans, our winter doesn't last very long and it can get very unpleasant during the summer. I could just roll with the windows off, but its bothering me that its something that isn't working correctly.

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me.

Welcome to the best TJ Forum.

The best diagnosis is going to be a set of A/C gauges to confirm pressures. The metering device is internal to the liquid tube and can be compromised by adding stop leak which your PO could have done chasing issues.

If memory serves, he told me there was a leak somewhere and he got tired of filling with Freon. Rather than have it fixed, he just let it all leak out and didn't care to use the AC.
