A/C Problems

I just bought this 2002 TJ and it has what I think is a vacuum leak. When I attempt to change the location the A/C comes out the jeep will either send all air at the feet or both the middle (face area) and bottom vents.

Things I have replaced:
- HVAC Control Unit
- Vacuum Line (The main one running along the engine bay)
- The T vacuum line near the firewall has been "fixed" (It had a crack, now replaced with a new bit of hose.)
- Blow Motor Resistor (The board for the old one was missing. The plug was there but the old board is somewhere in the a/c system. I believe anyway.)
- All A/C Vacuum Actuators

EDIT- Before replacing the worn items, the jeep would send all a/c to the feet at 50mph. Now after replacing those items, it takes more of a load on the engine to cause the redirect of a/c.

Any ideas? Summer is a bit too hot to run no top all the time.

Is your vacuum reservoir still plumbed in?

Yes it is. I checked it with a mityvac and it holds vacuum. I even removed it and visually it looks brand new.

Remove your glovebox and visually inspect the colored vacuum lines from the switch panel to the vacuum actuators. And since you have a mityvac, check the actuator diaphragms.

I have not, that is my last thing to do. Next plan of attack is just check each line with the mityvac. The actuators should be fine they are all brand new. I double-checked them by hand before installing. All 3 should hold just fine. I'll update once i check each hose.

After using the mityvac I could not get the YELLOW hose to consistently hold vacuum. All others held fine. Off to amazon to get the right color hose!

Edit- I visually inspected all the lines and nothing even looks worn. The lose of vacuum could have just been me not getting a complete seal with the tool.

Edit 2- Engine still redirects all A/C to feet at load and it will not send any A/C to the defrost no matter the setting. My only guess is the missing board from the blow motor resistor is blocking something.

FINALLY FIXED kinda. The last vacuum leak has been found. It was the one that attaches to the main vacuum line near the brake booster. Small crack near the attachment.

Now the A/C always blows at the feet besides on defrost only. Not the biggest problem.

Good job. Sometimes you have to inspect every inch of wire or tubing to find the problem.
