A word from Bosch

On Amazon, the reviews confirm that Bosch 69316 is the right pump for a ‘99 Wrangler 4.0 and a ‘00 Cherokee 4.0.

Not sure if there were any changes in the TJ years. They do mention that you will need different strainers and list Airtex FS220 & FS221.

Not sure if any of this is accurate, just relaying so that maybe someone here can confirm.

had the same issue when i went to overhaul my cooling system. go to the dealer and they may be able to tell you what the replacement number is

It appears the Bosch 69316 Fuel Pump and Strainer Set at www.rockauto.com for $73.89 is the right one for 1997-2004. That's the one I'll order as a spare.

And JeepZilla, it does appear that Bosch was the OEM for the entire fuel pump assembly. The fuel pressure regulator is the same 97-04.

Well of course there are several brands that lay claim to the fit of their fuel pump. Even Bosch mentioned taking a look at Airtex. I know Autozone and ORillys both have life time Warranties on their pumps . for my 97 tj with a 19 gal gas tank Im just out of luck with Bosch.

Eddie - Go to Advanced Auto Parts site and search the part. They show some in stock in Meridian MS, but not sure what city you are near. I was able to find one in the Dallas area.

Airtex has the worst of the worst reputations, just behind Spectre. The one Spectre I have installed lasted all of 13 months before it failed.

So I got a call this morning from Bosch to inform me about the 67655 fuel pump assembly for 19 gal gas tank.

" We are sorry to inform you that the pump 67655 fuel pump has been obsoleted by Bosch and is no longer available, you may check on line to see if anyone has old stock on them. So to recap the 67655 it has been cataloged as obsolete without replacement and is no longer offered to Bosch."

Amazon has inventory of Bosch p/n 67655, although not cheap at $281.99. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BZJDK2/?tag=wranglerorg-20 Amazon also has inventory of Bosch fuel pumps for early TJ's with the 15 gal. tank.

Someone should confirm and post the TJ model years using this particular fuel pump. A cursory check suggests that the now obsolete fuel pump is for the 97-02 model years with the 19 gal. tank. Is the version for the 15 gal. tank obsolete as well?

There seems to be plenty of inventory of the Bosch fuel pumps used in the later TJ's (Bosch p/n 67756, $171.53 on Amazon). Perhaps I should contact Bosch to determine whether these are obsolete as well.

Yes. Don't worry about the FPR, it rarely causes problems. Its job is limit limit fuel pressure which is rarely an issue. Same with the fuel filter also inside the FPR, it is considered a lifetime part and it should never need to be replaced.

Just tried to order one from Advance they dident have any Online site wouldn’t let complete order. If any local stores show stock you might be able to snag one

Just drove over to Advanced to pickup my online order and the box was smashed up pretty good. Opened it up and the assembly was broken, plastic bits everywhere.

If you’re making a drive you may want to call ahead and ask them to inspect the part before you head out!

Yes, 2005-6 use a completely design that is not interchangeable with earlier years.

Now im really glad I didn't throw my fuel pump assy away when I installed the Bosch in Feb.
I may be able to partially rebuild it with a fuel pump module, will look into that and report back.
Hang on to your used parts, dang
