If you want something that's a bit more durable, though a good bit more prep work as well, steel it is probably you're best bet out of a rattle can. I redid my shocks with the black, it goes on nice and thick, smooths out on its own very nicely and hopefully cures pretty hard and durable. I did 4-5 coats on my 2.5x12" shocks and resis with three cans to give you an idea of coverage.

These guys had the best price at the time, though TMR does some sales every now and then. Haven't got my shocks on yet, but a lot of the racing and trophy truck guys seem to like it for their chassis and such

Took delivery of the front housing from Spidertrax, turned around and drove it to my axle builder. I’ll give him a few more weeks before bothering him about status.

I did call him and asked that he paint the Reid knuckles black...The orange is just too much.

Advanced Adapters reached out Friday afternoon, my Atlas is on schedule to be built next week. Originally ordered and placed “in line” back in April 21.

I should have it in hand the second week in September. However, I’ll be in training for 6 weeks starting the first week of September, so the YJ build is on pause again while I focus these next few weeks on training.

Got the front axle finally done and back in the garage.

- Spidertrax pro series 4130 chromoly 3.5” housing
- Reid Racing 3.5” Super Kingpin Inner knuckles (C’s)
- Reid Racing Super Kingpin outer knuckles
- Setup for double shear steering
- Driver drop
- 69.5” WMS
- 79 Ford Dana 60 Specs

Couldnt stand the orange paint that Reid’s come with, so painted them black.

Will utilize 05-12 factory Ford Superduty brake calipers and rotors, 8x6.5 unit bearings, locking hub, and a 1480 or 1550 u-joint.

Back from training and got some new parts in the garage.

The Atlas has been unpacked and looks amazing.
4.3:1 and driver side drop. Short rear output.


Having the transfercase was the final piece in the puzzle for starting the power train swap.

Guessing it’s just some off the shelf high gloss black spray paint out of can.

I still havent decided what finish I want on them. I’m going to paint them black, but finish is still up in the air as far as flat, semi gloss, or high gloss

Me too. Moving this month and still collecting parts. Hope to be able to work on it a lot next week, still need to strip the interior, cut and clean up some of the factory brackets.

It took about 7 months to get shipped to my door after placing my order.

A few weeks before my order shipped they notified me via email, called me and confirmed all my options, then built it, and shipped it.

Been on the back burner for a while now. I'm In the middle of moving, well been moving since December of 2021. Got my two garages secured and ready to get the Jeep in the new garage space and get to working on it.
