I am swapping engines out and replacing a number of items like clutch/flywheel, AC compressor and clutch (condenser too), just to start fresh, parts are still functioning. My AC works, but growls a bit, showing its 16 years of wear and tear. The only new AC parts I can get here are Chinese. Probably lucky if I get a year out of it (who knows). Does anyone have experience rebuilding the compressor? Easy to do, good part available? I assume a rebuilt factory unit is better than a Chinese knock off, I intend to use those as a bookmark. AC gets used every mile here. I suppose I could mail my compressor to the states if there are reputable techs.
