I'd like to upgrade the sound coming out of my speakers but I want to keep the factory head unit.

I've already added new speakers (which hardly made any difference), so I'd like to add an aftermarket amp and later a subwoofer.

Are there any write ups available? Or has someone attempted this with good results and can provide some pointers?

Thanks

As long as you get an amp that has high-level inputs and an adjustment for the volume (either on the inputs or outputs) you should be able to wire it up and make it work. High-level inputs connect to your factory radio's speaker outputs and step down the voltage to produce the input signal to the amp.
