I'm looking for best option for air filter after highlines as my air box is not fitting. Can I see some examples?

Windstar intake for me

I'm really liking the Windstar setup but not too stoked on the funnel for water into engine if drain clogs or something?

I don't know what I'm doing yet... The super charger changes things too since my intake is at the rear of the engine now.

Mine has been in for about 80k miles, countless rainstorms and dozens of creek crossings.

The stock airbox can usually fit, with a bit of work on the bracketry. What's preventing it from being used?

The hole for the intake sits high off the cowl floor. Not long after the install I was caught in a torrential downpour. Pulled over afterwards and checked the filter, it was bone dry

The PO installed one from Edge which bolted back on, but I’m running AEVs highline.
The supercharger came with one like Worley and jjvw is talking about.

Hmm I like the fit and cost of the Windstar through the cowl. I worry about cowl getting water in it but maybe it's not a risk. I will call around for pick n pull yard.

I haven't tried the stock box but I have this in the way. I may be able to fit the box around the hoop crossover.

Well the stock box will not fit by a long shot. I'm looking at slapping a cone filter and a prefilter on the stock tube to get me running. I see 3" cone filters but are they flexible enough to squeeze on the 2.7" tube?

circling back. Here is what i ended up using for the time being. I haven't decided what to do long term. Leaning toward windstar into the cowl but id love to do a cowl snorkel also. This works for now.

I'm running the windstar intake without directing it through the cowl. I did have some issues with dust getting past the filter, haven't checked it since I did some tweaking

The cowl is deep enough that it's not a problem. Just drill the hole in the firewall up as high as possible.

@Irun you have a beautiful engine bay. Hope you don't mind me saying. Good point on the intake height, looks like you angled up.

Yes on the angling. This was my third one and I experimented with the positioning.

You can run the stock air cleaner by cutting the bottom out of it. Then fab some brackets to attach it to your fender.

Anyone know if I can buy JUST the rubber piece that goes through the Cowl? I just picked up an air cleaner on e-bay and they didn't include that part.
