Alex01 Silver Sport Build Thread

I would be much more likely to convince the wife to get a camper for the bed of the truck than a trailer for the jeep. (better yet a small RV that can tow the jeep) She was spoiled by her dad's toy hauler and also gets fantastic rates at Hilton owned properties since she works for the hotel.

She's already eyeballing the new hotel in Moab they are building which is good news for me. https://curiocollection3.hilton.com...curio-collection-by-hilton-CNYCUQQ/index.html

don't know if I have one, although I should, I've stayed at plenty of them around the country

I spent a bit of time today making a shelf for the jeep to take on the rubicon trip/future adventures without a back seat.

I still need to add the tie down anchors and use some self tapping screws to hold it in place. Not bad for 1.5 hrs of work if I say so myself.

Something like this?

I got the UCF half doors painted last night. Not a bad job for spraypaint but certainly not perfect.

I cleaned the panels then roughed up the aluminum with 100 grit followed by 400 grit. Washed again and let dry. Sprayed 3 coats of self-etching primer followed by 3 coats of base and 4 coats of clear.

I'll post some photos of them on the jeep later in the day since I'm allowing them to cure a bit before adding the hardware.

If you decide to go with uppers, I have some old ones you can have. Not in good shape, but at least you'll have the frame work and just need to buy new skins.
Thank you that's tempting. I'll grab them from you next time we meet up. I doubt I'll have any room on the con for them.
