Yep there are tons of us on here who have built or are building a rig with their kid/kids. But the difference is that most of us who are building these rigs plan on using them OFF-ROAD on trails that would not work with some of the mods that you are doing. Does that make what you are doing WRONG??? Nope it's your TJ and it's YOUR own money so you can do anything you want to it.
Most would only add a truss if it was minimal or was required for a lift or to swap in other axles. Again there isn't anything wrong with most of the trusses being sold except that they limit up travel in some cases and don't really serve any purpose other than to look KEWL.
I'm sure your kid is going to have one of the koolest rides at school. Have fun and enjoy this time with your kid as the time goes by fast and then they grow up and move away.

I grew up in the 80`s man. To make a motor really really do 400 hp on the street! That took money man. Period. If you were a TEN second guy, legit, you were the shit. PERIOD! I dont live nor my son near anything remotly OFFROAD. THIS is a concrete city now. And filled with latinos , so whitey,,,we are all moving out. Missippi is our new found frontier. But anyway, Im not buying an ATLAS, NOT DOING AN LS, NOT DOING A HEMI, and Im not spending 8g per entire axle. Aint happening to ride down the street! Period. Ive taken note on alot of things. Thank you all. OH, and by the way,,,,,Ive got some much light going to be mounted on this thing that it should, should be seen from SPACE!
Seriousley, I dont want my son in danger, so Ive researched beyond beliefe and yes axles, brakes and all I dig and took note. Thanks. Bitch should be in SEMA lol. Which im not a fan of. Ill have 38k in this thing when done. Not included when I bought the bitch new. Labor came free

Heck I'm not giving you crap for the way you are building your rig. It's yours and it's your money so spend it however you want. I was just pointing out that many here wouldn't build it this way. We all have a vision in our minds how we want our Jeeps to look when done. If you've looked at my build thread you would know that I don't always follow how others are doing things either.
I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures of it when it is done.
