Are BF Goodrich KM3 Tires Good or Bad?

Is anyone using the BF Goodrich KM3's? I went to go buy Goodyear MTR's for my 97 TJ and was told that there is a nation wide backlog. I had a recommendation from one tire store to use KM3's. I just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with them. Let me know, good or bad.

Thanks Igoo65

I was told the same thing when I went to buy KM3's, ended up buying Cooper Discoverer STT Pros. I was living in Monument at the time, and none of the local tire stores could find more than 1 or 2 KM3's in the whole country. Even the Coopers ended up coming 3 from the east coast and 2 from California, but at least they existed and I was driving on them in a week.

I think the MTRs are discontinued for 15" wheel sizes, so if you run 15" wheels, don't hold your breath.

I've had them for a couple years now, 33x12.5s. The run a little small, maybe 32 inches, but other than that no complaints. Performed beautifully off road in the terrain I wheeled them (Appalachian mountains in PA), and they're fine on the road though I can't comment on their abilities in rain/snow, only on dry pavement. They look nice too:

oh, and to more specifically answer the original question, i haven't personally run KM3's but I've been happy enough with the KO, KO2, and KM2 that I've run, that I was happy to try out the KM3s and had no reason to try another brand, other than the wait time. I've always found them easily balanced and quiet compared to similar tires.

my wife's 4runner also wears KO2s, but I don't have any pictures of it because I don't find it exciting enough to photograph.

Do KM3 tire have sidewall trouble? I witnessed one tear 4" or 5" straight from a couple inches from the rim towards the tread. I think someone posted a pic on TJ Forum recently that did the same thing.

In Johnson valley they are shit compared to mtr’s. I switched with over 80% thread on the km3s. Much happier now.

Didn't place an order but Costco still thinks 33x10.5x15 are still produced. Didn't have them check whether there were any in the supply line.

I have ran K0, K02 and K03. I’ve liked them all so far. I had one sidewall issue with a K0 sidewall slice/poke back in the late 90’s. One flat on a K03 due to a bad valve stem. Easy fix in the trail.

And they look really awesome in my driveway with the undercarriage lights on. Mean tread pattern 💪

Those are km’s not ko’s. KO is the all terrain designation.
