Arizona Rock Crawler

Not in my world. Not worth it to me.
I figured as much but thought I’d check.

Time for 35’s

33’s are fun though.
I’ll probably just get one replacement 33” and move the questionable tire to the spare. I thought about it and I’ve done too many projects lately. I’m ready to sit back and wheel the piss out of it the way it is. The 35s really are tempting though since the trails I’m getting into are mostly giant rocks and most of the guys are on 37”+. Guess I’ll be the little Jeep a while longer...

Make sure you get true 35's. Blaine will show you how to tell. ;)
Hahaha I’ll make sure to read the sidewall :) (I’m going MT/Rs when I’m ready though)

Now that’s a plan

You seem to do find on 33’s
Appreciate it. We will see how long I can stand wheelin with my dad and his 35s 😂
In all honesty though the trails I enjoy the most would really benefit from some 35” MT/Rs. I feel that I am outgrowing the all terrains a little bit traction wise and some Kevlar sidewalls would be nice since I’ve ruined 2 of these in 6 months. Current plan is to move to Currie springs and 35s in October as a birthday present to me 🥳

My patience in waiting to buy as many parts used as I can is paying off. Currie Steering for $250 today. Best part is I thought all that was rust on it in the picture but just got it home and it cleaned up perfect. Only 6k miles on it

I've been looking for about a year for a used Currie steering setup. I don't think people in Michigan buy "good" stuff. There are a lot of rough country stickers on windows here...

Nice find!

Took me about a year to come across the steering as well. We have a fair amount of off-roaders around here but Currie stuff is still hard to find. If you get tired of searching the best prices on everything Currie I’ve found are here:

They have the Currie steering for $499

Finished up a savvy body lift on my dads Jeep tonight. Here it is sporting the new 35” MT/Rs, a 4 inch lift/1.25” BL. Tomorrow will set his bumps for the new tires.
The body lift was a pain in the ass. His sliders tied into the body mounts so the previous owner cut the bushings obviously to install it. I ran a bunch of solutions through my head and the one I arrived at was converting the sliders into tub mounted sliders.

Just cut where that line was and put bolts up through the slider into the tub with spacer tubes between the slider and tub.
Then put some grade 8 washers on top of the savvy pucks on the the mounts that were cut. Eventually the solution is new body mounts but this works.

Dropping the fan shroud was more work to move down than I anticipated. Needed to dremel a cutout in the bottom to fit around a hose because the existing cutout didn’t allow much movement. It took some finagling but I was able to rotate the shroud so the cutout was facing up and I could work on it.

Then a right angle drill took care of the new mounting holes nicely.

We opted not to do a MML namely because we finally got his front driveshaft vibrations to behave and I didn’t want to change anything in regards to the front DS angles so moving the shroud seemed more logical.

Were you concerned at all about the heat on the ball joints?
Yeah, Blaine suggested a wet rag on the ball joint which I did. We also took little breaks to keep the C from overheating especially on that gusset. Just drove it on the freeway and everything feels good!

Just made my first “Used” Amazon purchase on spare hub locks. Normally $250 but there was a used option for $120 that said “minor cosmetic flaw” got them in today and they were brand new and look totally fine. I take it the finish didn’t meet standards or something. Will use this option more often now!

Took the anti rock off of Chris’s ex jeep for him. In all seriousness this has been a much needed upgrade. The disconnects have gotten a little scary on some of the trails we’ve been doing. Can’t wait to test it out

I welded mine with the ball joints in place. That must have been at least 30k miles ago.

Thinking about my goals next few months, namely fitting the flipped tie rod and 35s with stock fenders. It seems the hub kit has probably put me at an advantage. I don’t have to worry about prefect pinion angle anymore so the diff won’t be tilted towards the track bar as much as it used to. Hopefully this will allow me to push my front axle further forward than normal but we will see.

Not to suggest that the two are related, but I didn't start bending the steering until after I flipped the tie rod! Prepare yourself.

You probably also weren't breaking axle shafts and losing beads before the flip either ;) When you say steering you mean bending your tie rod or the drag link?
