Arizona Rock Crawler

This was my thoughts as well. I learned something from your build. That I want that rear wall pushed back as well as the ability to go above stock hood line. I also wanted no flare because they catch on everything. Standard genright flares reduce uptravel which is something I’m not willing to pay for. That left me with Boulder highlines 🙂
On mine, I think the tire rises about 3/8" above where the factory fenders would be.

Nice. Highlines are definitely a lot of work for 3/8” but like they say, 90% of the work goes towards gaining the last 10% of performance.

your netting far more than 3/8” with a HiLine.

If I had done 11s up front instead of 12s, I wouldn't have needed that 3/8". And the only reason I did the stretch was to clear the rear wall. But according to Blaine, he never has the clearance problems I had on mine. But we couldn't find where mine was significantly different.

Yes but even with 12s I would theoretically only be using 3/8” of it with 12” shocks. But my setup may be different. I was going all the way to the hood line with my ranchos so I would imagine I can utilize the extra space with 12s

Let’s here your opinions. Stock hood latches or hood pins?

At this point. Pins. Unless there’s some marks from factory indention.

I’ve seen others run pins and not thought anything of it, I’d argue that it’s mostly up to taste.

I’ve never used pins. I wonder if using hood latches would help add stability to the sides now that there’s no flange.

looks great.

pins don't need you put holes in your new fenders, just the hood you already made into a 1 of a kind. but it's your choice and what you like.

if you look into pins check out Daystar, they make a rubber grommet pin set that contours to our hood a little better than a metal disk.
and placement is funky you gotta measure....... the radiator header is not symmetrical side to side (mine's not) and visual references can put the pins in different spots.

I run both pins and latches, but if I only ran one or the other it would be the pins. For me, it’s not about looks at all - pins keep the hood closed in a roll, latches, not so much...
