Hope someone can set me in the right direction. Full lead up to my problem. ‘97 Saharan with 4.0 manual transmission. Bought this on Monday and it has had a dead battery every morning since. Once in a while it will stay running for 30 seconds or so after you shut off the ignition. Mechanic friend suggested seeing it could possibly be the ASD relay. Went to o’Reillys and picked up a new relay. Put it in in their parking lot and when I started the motor it was idling Above 2000 rpm. Pulled it and put the original back in and it idles fine. Took the new one back in and got a refund. Backed out of my parking spot and it dies and won’t start. Switched the relay for the one AC relay and it started and got me home fine. Now it will crank but not run. Once in a while it acts like it is going to start then sputters and dies. Any thoughts or wisdom? Thanks in advance.
