Automatic vs Manual

Blaine is currently converting my manual to an auto.
I have to get up to Blaine's sometime this week for a minor spare tire problem since it's too old for a tire shop. I look forward to seeing your Jeep. I just have to think of something to sneak onto it while I'm there. What color is it? 🤔🤣

We are still yet to sneak gay porn magazines into his glove box during moab, if youre going there soon then maybe you can do it for us ahead of time. This way he will find it, then think the coast is clear, and then we put more in his center console :devilish::ROFLMAO:

Do the Brokeback Mountain DVD cover in the glove box :) Of course you do have one ? lol

Deer whistle hidden on a steering knuckle or somewhere sneaky. Somebody did that to me and it drove me nuts for weeks.

Auto for hardcore wheeling, manual for fun. I strongly prefer manual in all my vehicles.

The ideal offroad drivetrain of the future will probably have no transmission at all. All electric, independent motor for each wheel. No differentials, no transfer case, no transmission.

And they'll advance driver assist to the point you'll be left behind by some newb who downloaded a trail map to his 4WD and sits back while it takes him to the top.

I really enjoy these circle jerk/pissing contest posts. Like everything else in life if Person A likes X over Y, and Person B likes Y over X why does anybody else care? I understand explaining why you might prefer X over Y but why do people want everyone else to agree with them?

Sometimes I feel like shifting, and banging around on a tote road so I take the Jeep. If I want to cruise around with the top down I take one of the Corvettes out. If I need to go to the dump, or go to Lowes, or the Depot I take the truck. If I have to run errands I take the new Altima with the best seat I've ever put my ass on.

I own a lot of stuff that others wouldn't want I didn't buy it for anyone's approval, I bought them because I liked them. Ok back to mine is bigger then yours.

I don't get the part where anyone else cares either. Who gives a shit what you like? It is your rig, have it however you want it. Fortunately the discussions have evolved slightly enough over the decades that we don't as often have to get involved to correct all the bullshit.

It used to be-
Manuals are better because more control.
Manuals have better engine braking.
Manuals are lower maintenance.
Manuals are cheaper to rebuild.
Manuals are manly.
I bought a manual so my wife won't drive my Jeep.

Yeah, whatever. Notice the vast majority of that horseshit comes from one group of owners, the auto folks basically didn't and don't give a shit, they just go have fun and have little need or desire to justify their transmission choice to a bunch of fucktards who like to row though gears. Pick what you want, go enjoy it and quit worrying about what anyone else thinks and for crying out loud, stop with the bullshit about your manual, no one cares.

True enough, and well said!

And my Tramp Stamp is bigger than your Tramp Stamp! ;)

Take my properly geared TJ with an automatic down the steepest hill you've ever done in 4Lo and Low using compression braking only and watch the Jeeps even with manual transmissions behind you start stacking up because you are going too slow for them.
Well, that's kind of like saying "what's better for towing up hill the 4.0 or the 2.4"? "Well my 2.4 with a turbo and 5.14 gears tows uphill better than my friends stock 4.0 so the 2.4 must be better at towing up hill".

Apples to apples, stock vs stock, A/T vs M/T going down hill...M/T better, less using brakes.

Seems like the auto guys are the ones quick to call people who like to row their own gears stupid and justify their slush boxes, not the other way around.
