Barnes bolt on skid

Well looks like tcase and everything else has room to move up at least 1.5”. Exhaust will be tight. Will probably cut hanger at transmission to see how far down I can get it.
As far as MML is it just the fan shroud that need to be moved back up?

Test fit everything before you cut. With the UCF extra clearance skid I have, I did not need to cut the hanger and there is no contact on the tub. However, every Jeep is different and I have a 1-inch daystar body lift.

I will install the skid and MML then evaluate any modifications that need to be made.

It's the opposite, when you add the UCF skid it will angle the transmission and engine down. I had a body lift on mine with no motor mount lift. When I installed the UCF skid it angled the engine down enough where the fan was hitting the shroud. I had planned on installing a motor mount lift anyway so that took care of that problem. I did not add the UCF LOPRO mount and I think they'll instruct you that you might be able to get away without it. The LOPRO mount may take care of your engine angle where you aren't hitting the shroud. I guess it depends on how everything lines up and which solution you want to use.

If I had it all to do over I would have bought the highest clearance since I already have everything else needed. I would have also gone with aluminum 3/8".

I had to drill my holes to connect the engine and transfer case skids. The engine skid is a pain to install mainly because of the engine bracket mounts. Some people grind on the skid for clearance. My exhaust is extremely close to the skid but it doesn't hit.

I may go with the 3/8. Still have some searching to do. I have a body lift so the mml is a good thing. I only have about 1.5-2” between the back of my t case and the tub so flat belly would be very difficult or not possible.

I had a 1.25 inch body lift and a 1 inch motor mount lift. I installed both at the same time and just disconnected the fan shroud until I was complete with both. It went back together in the original mounting holes. I also have the UCF extra clearance transfer case skid to go on my Unlimited at some time in the future.

I’m wondering if the front of the engine will go down enough that I’ll have to modify the shroud after installing the UCF skid?

Did you get the LOPRO mount? that should help

I'd like to point this out for anyone looking at the UCF skids.

No Body-Lift Required- YJ & Late TJ are 3" deep, Early TJ is 2" deep.
Original Extra-Clearance- YJ & Late TJ are 2" deep.
Ultra High-Clearance- All models are 1" deep.

So for 97-02 TJs you only have 2 options, no-body lift or ultra high clearance.

UCF does a really good job going through everything if you are looking at the skid plate system, explaining the different options available for purchase.

I had a member here measure their no body skid. His measured a tad over 2”. That is what Matt told me as well. Early vs late explains all the different numbers I have found.

I didn’t. I have a brand new MOPAR transmission mount that I was hoping to use.

I won’t rule out the lopro mount though.
