So, I've never had battery drain..orig owner of an 02 X 5spd 4.0. Had the battery replaced while having an inspection done (a place I've gone to for 11 years). Overnight the battery died..wouldnt take a jump. Towed it back to the same place. They're telling me that there's considerable battery drain..they're not sure from where..and are checking. My question is..if I've never had this issue..and it all of a sudden happened after a battery install...what could it be? Sorry for the long post...and thanks.

Why was the previous battery replaced ?

I had a bit of a slow crank when starting..always started on the first try..it happened before installing this one about 3-4 years ago. When they did the system test..it showed it was bad.

Update...they had the alarm disconnected...left overnight, and is started the next morning. Cant see how an alarm could drain a battery overnight. Any ideas much appreciated. Thanks.

If they aren't properly installed, an alarm, stereo, or any accessory can drain a battery.

Same thing happened to me about 15 years ago. Bought a car with an aftermarket alarm that someone installed incorrectly, and I found out it was the alarm that was draining the battery. I ended up ripping that piece of garbage off anyways... as if car alarms even make a difference to begin with :risas3:
