Ask them if it’s made by allied wheel company because it looks exactly like the raceline RT81. If it is, steer clear.
Huh, have a friend that I'm pretty sure runs one of their other wheels, but I thought they had gone out of business a while ago...
Even though steel wheels are made slightly stronger by a bead lock ring, be aware that if your Canadian trails are rocky, as they are here where I wheel, that it's pretty easy to dent steel wheels. I experimented with steel wheels years ago and they would regularly get dented enough so the tires would leak air. I gave up and went back to aluminum and ended up later with forged aluminum bead locks which have been problem free.

You might look into Coyotes for an alternative to a beadlock wheel that costs less. Install might be time consuming, but results seem very good.
Impressive amount of damage. I honestly just stumbled across those rims. Just looking for opinions and experience. Thanks for sharing.

These are very tempting to me.
They are a 17inch, weight 37lbs, -13mm offset and 4.5in backspace, and have the option to be a simulated beadlock or real beadlock. I also like the aluminum look especially when running other raw aluminum on the rig.
I know they have USA made forged wheels but nothing for a 5x4.5 bolt pattern. I’d assume these are just like race lines where they’re made over seas but I’ve seen a lot of people love race lines too.
Any reason not to get them?

I’m not totally opposed to that if I can get a shop to balance beadlocks. I like the idea of having both options so I can run it non beadlock for a while and have them balanced at a shop before fully committing to a beadlock.
To find a shop that will balance them. I’ve asked a few and they said they wouldn’t touch them. I don’t mind mounting them myself but I’d need to find a place that would balance them since I’m not messing with beads.
The balance would still need to be redone. The tire will have to be dismounted to move the tire to the outside of the lip. Anytime the tire moves on that wheel it's going to effect the balance.
Also, as others have mentioned that price is rough! Especially since you would still need to buy the actual beadlock rings at another $130 each.
Oh ya I wasn’t saying the balance would stay between them. It’s more so I can buy one wheel. Set them up non beadlock and take them to get balanced at any shop since it’s still a mostly on road jeep and then when I’m ready for real beadlocks I don’t need to buy another set of wheels.
I’ve called shops and they said they won’t balance a real beadlock. That’s my biggest fear is having to use balance beads. As it’s a mostly on road rig I care more about the balance. It does seem like the fear of beadlocks on road isn’t as bad as it seems since I’ve talked to a few people now that say they get they’re beadlocks balanced at shops. Just taking that jump to a real beadlock would mean I have to mount them which is fine.
That's crazy that they won't. I still haven't got mine balanced, but I called a shop to make sure and they acted like it was a crazy question. They said they'll balance anything that fits on their machine.

If not, surely you can find one gearhead around that understands you're not holding them liable (except maybe damage).
My shop always static balances with all the weights on the back,is a beadlock any different?
Not to my knowledge, but there will be others that know far more than me. My Hutchinsons give you descriptions of where to affix weights.
