Resurecting this thread as I recently replaced the stock shocks on my son's '03 Wrangler X with 155k miles with the Rancho RS5000X recommended above (no lift), and replaced front & rear upper and lower control arms, sway bar endlinks & bushings, steering stabilizer, trackbar, and added the bump stops that were missing front & rear. Leaving my driveway that has a rolled curb where it meets the street, it feels like the rear of the Jeep is bottoming out - it jars you. Recently went on an 80 mi drive with my son (he's getting his license next week) and the ride was so rough, I feel like I need to see the chiropractor. I've owned 10 Jeeps, including a couple TJs, a YJ, and a couple JKUs and don't remember the TJs or YJ being this rough. It's at a highly-recommended off-road shop getting a couple other things checked out & they said the Ranchos are too long and are recommending a 2" lift. Other variable is the Jeep is riding on 265/70/17 Cooper Discoverer ATP II tires with less than 1k mi on them.
Suggestions on improving the ride/eliminating the "bottoming out"? Thanks!
