Bluetooth Headset

What are you guys using for a good Bluetooth headset? Something that people can actually hear me on when I have doors off. I've tried a lot and can't find a quality piece.

I've tried 3-4 Bluetooth earpieces and none work well enough to use in an open Jeep. You're right to want a headset, they work a lot better. Bose is the one I'd get if I had the $$$.

The problem is that many (most?) states have laws against headsets that cover the ears. I know my state, California, does.

Seems like the Bluetooth ear buds I'm buying have incredible sound but a horrible Mic. I've returned everything.

How about getting a radio with blue tooth capability? Place an external microphone on the role bar so it as near to you as possible. You'll get better sound using your speakers and with a decent mic, callers should be able to hear you. however, Jeeps are noisy so it may not work as well as it would in a car.

I bought the Kenwood KMR-M315BT marine radio. It has an external mic that I placed on the steering wheel column. With my doors off, my wife still heard me just fine while I was driving 65 mph over a windy bridge.

I just put a Kenwood KDC-BT65HD radio in my 05 X and put mic on stering column also, plays through stereo speakers so you can hear and anyone I call can hear me also. Fantastic radio with great sound and High Def Radio if you live near a city with those stations. Can also plug sirius XM into back of radio and have that if ya like. Only time its no good is when top is off.

I use the blue parrott VXi B305-XT headset with the top down and doors off at 80mph with and Oklahoma crosswind (15mph with gusts to 30mph) blowing through. As long as the mic wind screen is touching the corner of my mouth and i'm using the leatherette pad centered over my ear, I can communicate fine with other people. https://www.amazon.com/s/?tag=wranglerorg-20

I am currently using Sennheiser urbanite a great Bluetooth headset.

One of the reasons I have my jeep is to GET AWAY. Its a nice excuse..."Why didn't you answer my call?"

"Sorry, can't talk, Jeep, No Top, Loud, Wind noise, etc."

I put my phone in the console, and just drive.

Exactly my point...why spoil a great drive by having to answer the phone lol

I use an older Motorola ear piece that uses bone conduction to listen. The sound quality on the other end isn't spectacular but is clear and there is no wind noise. The only problem I have is the ear piece sometimes just isn't loud enough for me to hear over the wind noise but the sound on the other end is fine. I'll see if I can dig up if it's available anymore. The main thing is the in ear mic thing, that works well.

No, you’d need an intercom system for that.

I use Walkers Razor Electronic ear muffs with Bluetooth, and added the mic kit.

The Razor Slim Electronic Quad Muff with Bluetooth technology features ultra-low profile ear cups and a rubberized coating for added durability.

They seem to be OK, they were designed around shooting sports so wind noise is blocked as well.
