Brake line fitting size questions

I've read through several threads on this so hopefully I haven't missed the answer somewhere, if I did I apologize.

I see the line fittings are 1/2-20, 3/8-24, and 11mmx1.0 based off recent threads. Hopefully someone with fitting knowledge (looking at you Mr Blaine) can help me out. I have access to tons of AN style plugs at work (A&P mech in an engine shop) and looking at thread specs it seems for the 3/8 and 1/2 lines a -3AN and -5AN fitting cap/plug has the same thread size/pitch. Is that correct?

My lines are rusted pretty bad and I'm planning to replace the entire system, however I don't want to have my fluid leak out in the process so I'm looking to cap the lines when I disconnect them.

Use rubber vacuum plugs on the end of the hard line after you push the tube nut back. Before that though, prop a stick between the front of the seat and the brake pedal. Push the pedal down an inch or so to seal off the reservoir so it won't empty out.

I hadn't thought about using plugs like that, any idea the ID of the lines?

Also thanks for the tip on pushing the pedal in to seal off the reservoir, much appreciated!

Not inner plugs, vacuum plugs that go onto vacuum ports to seal them off.
