Car pics too cool not to share

For 7/7 I present what's probably the most iconic '77 model car (one of the few mid-late '70s cars that I like, a T/A)

I like the front end of the 81 better IMHO.

I like engine-turning. A lot of Chevy SS cars of the 60s had it.

But they made it look good, and not something that was staring you in the face while you were driving. I agree that engine-turned panels look great in some applications (the '64 SS Impala is a great example), but in others, it looks as cheap and tacky as fake woodgrain... ;)

So other than the '78 T/A which looks identical to the '77, I can't think of any '78 vehicles worthwhile, but a '78 Dodge Magnum is kind of interesting. The last of the big-block cars. While not an RB engine, it could still be had with a B-series 400 making a whopping 190 hp. Man, the malaise era cars are depressing.

78 Corvette Silver Anniversary, with the optional L-82 350

A guy up the road from me used to have one of those. I haven't thought about or seen that car in years. He was proud of it, but the rubber bumper cars just aren't my thing, although they're looking better nowadays.

I was going to post about these very cars yesterday, but the workday turned to crap, and I couldn't find the time. A guy I worked with at a Ford dealership had a super-sharp black '79 T-top version. The original Magnums were just different enough to be memorable to a true car guy, but still forgettable to the general public.

Not his, but virtually identical:
