I remember being pissed when prices hit $1 a gallon. If I saw that now, I'd celebrate.
That reminded me of a local "gas station war" back around '08 when a gallon was in the $3 range. Two competing stations (located across a 5 lane road from each other) got locked in on running the other out of business. Over about a month, they both kept lowering their daytime fuel price trying to one-up each other until they hit the $1 mark. You should have seen the lines. They pretty much shutdown a main thoroughfare of a busy city. The cops had to post up directing traffic and stopping fights until the powers that be put a stop to it all. I remember seeing people on the local new saying how they'd been sitting in line for hours and how many people were getting into fights.
