I am trying to troubleshoot an issue with my center console speaker and amp. I'm not receiving any sound through the speaker. Try a different speaker. I've tested power to the connection. Everything seems to be getting power. Any other things I can check on this end.

This is a 2002 TJ

This may sound extremely obvious, but make sure the bass is turned on/up on the EQ. I've solved many a blown/broken speaker problem like that for people.

Stupid question here but dos the speaker have to be a subwoofer? The speaker in there is some Chinese speaker not a subwoofer.

I honestly don't know... All I've ever SEEN there is a subwoofer. I've never messed with the wiring or setup of a TJ with a factory sub. But if you were to plug a component speaker in place of the 10" sub I have in the back of my TJ, it would not produce favorable results.

Edit: I'm sure it will also depend on whether this is a completely stock sound system in regards to headunit, wiring, etc, or contains aftermarket parts. If it's not stock, someone could have removed that speaker from the headunit but left it installed.

If it's a factory setup, yes, it's a very specific dual voice coil subwoofer with a combined 1 ohm impedance.
