Wife and I both have Samsung phones, her's is about 2 or 3 years old - a "Galaxy 10" something. Mine I've had for 4 years and purchased it used - a "Rugby 4" rugged flip. Great service from them. Our TV is a 15-ish year old Samsung we inherited from the wife's parents - works fine as does the used Samsung Blu-Ray player our son in law came up with for us as he was trying to loan us Blue Ray movies that our DVD player couldn't play!
Bought an LG fridge for the rental - we'll see. I've "heard things" about them as well.

No kidding. But its oh-so-inconvenient! The sacred cow of the modern era: Convenience. To Hell with reliability, usability and cost.
that's a bummer. I still have the 52" Samsung LCD I bought in 2007. I replaced the capacitors somewhere around 2015ish and it's still kicking. It's been moved 7 times not including from the store to my house.
It did do something weird the other night where the bottom right quarter was doubled, and the second image was stretched below the real one. It stopped doing it after about 5 minutes and I haven't seen it again, but I figure the writing is on the wall. I don't really want to spend the money right now but I wouldn't hate upgrading to 4K since that's the last piece in the system that isn't 4k ready.
