I get it. But...compare that to the Samsung fridge model I've had two separate friends get repaired under warranty on five separate occasions in total. Pile of shit comparatively; efficient or not.

It's the same for the drug problem. Everybody blames the cartels and the local drug kingpins. They would not be here if there wasn't a market.
Exactly, I have a clothes washer that is over 30 years old, I just keep repairing it!!! I have spent $15.00 on it in the last 10 years. Way cheaper than a new one.
High quality, long lasting products with modern efficiencies manufactured all across the globe do exist. Like stated earlier most just can’t or won’t pay for the quality.
The “Buy once, cry once” philosophy applies to much more than Jeeps.
I'll gladly pay for quality. What I won't pay for is bullshit. I want appliances that will last, not appliances with Internet connectivity, built in screens, smartphone Apps, or other crap. Next and hopefully the last laundry pair will be Speed Queen, but even they have gone to electronic controls (that just look like manual). I ASS-U-ME and hope that their electronics are well done and will last 20+ years.

I'm very happy with Samsung televisions. Mostly happy with their phones. They can't make a quality appliance if their life depended on it.
You could take their highest level refrigerator brand new in the box and try to give it to me for free and I wouldn't let it in the house. OTOH, their side load washer and dryer have been flawless for 8 years. TV's are hit and miss.
The Chinese Antirock has internet connectivity.

I've had nothing but problems with their televisions. Three motherboards and numerous other components replaced under warranty or the store's extended warranty. I now own a Hisense, it was cheap and serves it's purpose.
I had one of their blue ray players, it was a POS.
My brothers refrigerator was a persistent POS from the get go. , it's was broken, more than it's was running.
The appliance company where he purchased it eventually took it back and exchanged it for another brand
You pay a premium for a product and expect it to last.
My 10 year old Samsung plasma finally took a shit on Black Saturday, no picture even though it would turn on. So I replaced it with another Samsung as I found a really good deal on it and they were in stock that Saturday. I hope this one lasts 10 years.
Even though the new 4k TV is 28% larger it still cost one third of what that plasma cost when I bought it.
We had several Samsung TV's. Only one had the bad capacitor issue. But, I suspect the reason we don't have issues is we never turn them off. They stay on 24 hours a day for background noise.
We had one of their fancy refrigerators. Their best option after days and days of idiot techs being here was to give us a single 60-quart ice chest to store our food in while they spent 48 hours repairing it here and letting the epoxy patch set up. I finally gave up, bought another brand and gave away an 18-month-old refrigerator with a non-functional icemaker.
Pretty much my exact experience with them as well. Bought a whirlpool after the Samsung shit the bed. The ass bags at whirlpool decided to wire up the led lights like old Christmas tree lights. One goes out and the whole circuit dies and I get to play swap the LED until I find the right one. Luckily there are 2 circuits so I have a donor LED to use. Replacing my second one in less than 18 months so far.
I did the capacitor upgrade to my TV, it lasted 2 years before the screen died.
I believe its all the same shit with a different brand label on it. The internal components most likely all come from the same suppliers.
All the 4k TV's have come way down in price. For the amount of time I watch TV, I won't spend a ton of $$$ on a TV anymore.
The Hisense I have has better picture quality than the high end Sony my brother bought.
I have Samsung washer and dryer. One on top of the other and they are POS. Had the washer replaced in less than a week. The new washer acts up all the time. The dryer never wants to dry. Always have to dry two times. I called for my warranty and the give me the run around. They want me to go through test that last about an hour then when that doesn’t work they want to send a technician to figure it out. Need to give them a call again and put my foot down.
Ours are the side by side versions on pedestals. I can tell you from my warranty experiences that if yours are the same, the only foot putting will have to be on someone's neck to be effective. I'm very good at getting my way with vendors, nothing I could do would move HD, Samsung, or the appliance repair company to fix my problem.
I tried to explain that there is no way you can put all the food that fits in one of their refrigerators in a 60 quart ice chest and keep it good for 2 days in the summer. Not to mention that we have more than that just in the two freezer drawers if you count ice to keep it frozen. They simply did not give a shit.
I will not own another Samsung anything that I have to pay money for. When the washer and dryer die, I don't care what replaces them as long as it isn't Samsung.
