CJ-7 mirrors on my TJ?

Hi yall, I've been taking my doors off WAY more than I thought I would in the past year and have been thinking since my jeeps already done up to look like a CJ it wouldnt look out of place, is it possible to run windshield mounted mirrors like the CJ-7 had? that way I can just run doors with no mirrors mounted and not worry about readjusting them. I've been looking at the rugged ridge 11001.08 mirrors and i'm wondering if anyone's running them in the configuration pictured, as it would eliminate the worry of smacking them with the door or if I can just order some CJ mirrors and adapt them that way

This was a battle I fought years ago. There wasn't a single CJ style mirror mount that didn't vibrate, bend, and move around to the point of being useless.

I have CJ type mirrors on the Muddog. JJVW is right, they vibrate, but all I need to know is if there is a vehicle beside me, I don't need to read his License Plate or know his eye color.
One thing you will want to do is get a set of adjustable door straps. The OEM straps let the doors open too far knocking the mirrors out of adjustment.
And if you get the "Quick Release" mounts, they're not. They CANNOT be tightened enough to keep them stationary. You'll want to replace the screws that come with them with a hex bolt.
